Sweeeeet picture of a very nice buck. I would put him in the mid to low nineties when it's all said and done. Thanks for sharing him with us. Phil -
They're awesome Amanda and Chef! I can't wait to get em. I paid the invoice all ready Amanda because I agree with Scout'em that you shouldn't have to carry us. Thanks. Phil

That's awesome Lance. I hope he contacts you and gives you the chance to b.s. with him......sounds like a pretty decent feller. Phil -
I use Lens/screen wipes that come in small packets and are premoistened similar to what Doug is talking about. They are silicone free, anit-static, and anti-fog wipes. I get mine from the company that supplies our safety stuff for work...I think it's called Cintas. I normally get a box of 500 at a time since I use them on everything from my computer screen to my eye glasses. Phil

Cowards Caught on Camera!
cramerhunts posted a topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Well it finally happened to me along with everybody else.....yep someone messed with one of my trail cams! The good news is that I had it locked with a python lock and they could only get it open enough to get the memory card and not the whole camera. Bad news is that I lost a good memory card and had to pull these two cams for fear that they would be back to get the rest of it since they tried to cut the cable with what appears to be a pocketknife. I knew I was taking some risk by putting a cam on this spring so I put another cam back up in the trees a little further which is where I got these pictures of the scum. This spring is on State Trust Land and unless you happen to have access through a certain locked gate then its foot access only for about three miles. If you did get access through the locked gate and drove the old skid road with a quad it would only be about a 1/2 mile hike which it looks like this is what they did. I have asked the land owner for permission to use this route only to be told no because I could still walk into the State Land by going around his so maybe these are friends of his....regardless they are crooks and vandals. I will be printing these pictures and taking them back with me the next trip I make. Feel free to post these pictures around the web or if you know these people please let them know I am looking for them and I will find them. This is in unit 29 just to give you an idea on where these crooks are. And yes I am positive they are the ones who did it because there were no other people on the cam and also if you notice the date and time they spent almost 35 minutes messing around. Phil And here is a little bear that came by as well. -

Cowards Caught on Camera!

It sickens me when someone messes with your stuff in the wild, but ifin' it's LEFT in the public woods - shouldn't we each accept the reality that we are playing the odds that whomever might encounter our stuff on public property is within their "rights" to justify its theft because it has been "abandoned" in a publicly-owned area and therefore available for removal as litter [aka theft]? I say HIDE AND FORTIFY... and if you know you're in among thieving turds - then booby trap! So if my truck is left in the woods while I'm out hunting would it be "within their rights" to take it? Good looking box Brian, I've thought about putting mine in something like that but honestly I never thought someone would find the cams where they were. Oh well I guess there's no place that is safe....lesson learned and it won't be repeated. Phil -

I hope so and that's where I'm gonna start. We've always had pleasant enough encounters he just won't let me in through his property. He always waves and smiles everytime I pass him but I don't know if he'll rat out someone he's given access to. Phil -

Thanks Matt, I appreciate it. I agree that she couldn't get into the area the way I have to. I'm gonna start at the locked gate's owner with these pics when I return. Phil -

Scott your're right these pics are off of a p32 and if the other homebrew would of been the same I don't think they could of got the memory card out but it was a 360 which has the card and door right in front on the bottom. You are right it could have been a lot worse and I believe it would have been if they would of had the right tools. If they are snake folks they are in the right spot, I ran into this guy this time out. Phil -

Yeah I would of loved to have this cam pointed directly at the other one but I couldn't get it positioned that way. The other camera was right at the head of the spring about 20 yards from this one. -
That's pretty cool. Neat pics guys. Phil

I have an arctic prowler that gets used all the time. I pick up the girls from school in it, I use it to scout, I use it to hunt, and I take it to the dunes every once in a while. It is fairly cheap to license and insure and alot more fun then driving my truck everywhere. It has great ground clearance and does really good in the rough stuff. One of the advantages over a jeep or something similar is the width that allows it to fit onto trails that the jeeps couldn't. I love being able to have a conversation with my hunting buddies or family when out and about and I can't do that on the quads. This of course is just my two cents. Yeah you have to pull it on the trailer but I had to do that anyway with my quads. Phil

I get mine from Lowes. They have changed in design a little but they still work the same. Phil
