    Found : Tripod

Simmer. You obviously did not read all of the posts.......Mine had 3 legs.......Whereas CouseAz had adjustable legs. There will be no fishing on Brokeback mountain from this camp.
  3. I went to HS with Anthony and have known him to be nothing but a great guy. If you happen to see him again, tell him Jake Hughes said Hello.
  4. Did that happen to be Anthony Randall?

    Next Years Buck

A friend of mine took this picture while camping and wanted to know what I thought of this buck (He's a professed Carp Hunter and has no Idea what he's stumbled on to). I personally think hes a toad. Anyone want to throw some numbers out on what he might score. Then next year when I put him on the ground we can take the tape to him. Regardless of score I told him he would be hard pressed to find a whitetail hunter that could pass this buck up.

What about 30 animals that all let me take one shot........... . I kid I kid, the more I look at this post the more I want this dang gun......Also, the more I look at this post, the more I realize how much trouble I could get into with this one. Haha

    Someone has a story

You could probably get away with putting a Javelina tag on him..........being that that thing is a Pig. My official sober guess is 113, I will rescore him tonight though..........

    Next Years Buck

If I had personally taken this picture I would probably be a lot quicker to defend it. However I didn’t. I also have no reason to doubt the integrity of my friend. He told me where and when he took this picture and I believe him. It’s a mountain range in Arizona that I’ve hunted before and I am sure many CWT’ers have hunted as well. I also don’t make it a practice of mine to try and dupe friends, be it in person or online. Not to detract from this buck, but there happens to be a lot of pictures of larger Coues deer on this website. I have a picture on my profile of a buck my sister killed last year (still jealous) that I think is bigger and I know it didn’t come from Texas……. As for it being the same buck in both pictures I’ve spent a lot of time staring at it and I’m pretty sure it is, the left side has me sold on that fact. The reason I posted the pictures is because I wanted some honest feedback on the magnitude of this deer and I told my friend I would get some differing opinions on him. My personal guess was around 110”. I’m glad he shared his pictures with me and I’m glad I got to share them with you guys/gals. On that note Im going to leave this at what it is…….a picture of a great buck that I’m sure any of us would be stoked to have a shot at. Have a good one. Jake M. Hughes
  12. Not to deter from the late great JC but Christmas just happens to fall at the worst time of the year. Especially if you're lucky enough to draw a late whitetail tag. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my family.......I'd just rather be hunting. Here are some pictures of my 35A buck that I was fortunate enough to take on the last day of the hunt. Pops and I glassed him and two other bucks a little after day break, the rangefinder showed they were 973 yards away. While I had been holding for the mythical 100 incher my patience had reached its limits, I was also developing a sever case of itchy trigger finger. At this point I decided it was no horns barred and the stalk was on. After closing the gap to 290 yards we were in the best shooting position we were going to get. 20 minutes of glassing and we found him feeding in some brush, I got the .270 set up and waited for the shakes. It didn't take long. It felt like an eternity for him to step out in a clear lane but was probably only 10 minutes. I got myself calmed down, settled the crosses on the top of his shoulder and let one fly. It was a great shot. Then I took the safety off. The second shot without the safety was way more effective. It went through both shoulders and he was down for the count. I scored him that evening during the New Year festivities and got 182 Official, It might be a bit high. I really want to thank my Dad for raising me to be a hunter and instilling the Coues Madness at an early age. This hunt would not have been possible without my dad or my stepmom who guided us into the chaos. Once again thanks. I would also like to know if anyone could recommend a taxidermist near Sierra Vista or Tucson. I would like to get a European mount and was hoping to find someone with beetles. Hope everyone is having a great 08!!!

    35A Last Day Sweetness

Just wanted to say thanks for everyones advice and congratulations. I think that Im going to boil this one out myself though as Im not really in a good position to be paying for mounts. I was actually thinking about starting my own beetle colony, especially if any of you other CWT'ers would be interested in getting some Euro mounts. The only snag is talking my stepmadre into letting me keep them in the tack room........so far shes not a big fan of the idea. Not sure why. Once again thanks everyone.

    Ruger Charger

That thing looks like a Jackrabbit killing machine. Probably put the smackdown on all kinds of vermin. Unfortunately the way I shoot a pistol, this gun just won't work.......I actually have better luck throwing pistols at my intended target and this ones just to pretty to be tossin.

    CW.com Bumper sticker?

Dang O the second one is awesome. Personally speaking I hope every greenie I pass sees it and misinterprets it. That way when they give me the peace sign in there Drop Bush not Bombs hybrid I have another reason to put that granola munchin ford focus into the ditch. Think of it as tree huggin leaf licker bait!!!

    Bass Pro Shop

Hey firstcoueswas80 do you know someone who works there named Chad? heck it might be you for all I know. I bought a shotgun in there a few months ago and thought the customer service was excellent. I've always had good luck at Sportsmans although I did get pissed at the guys in the backpack section when they offered no help with the Badlands backpacks, but thats just a side gripe haha.

    ASU vs UofA

I almost went to ASU but I already knew how to read. Being a proud alum of UofA its tough watching my cats fall to ASU, however, if I recall correctly we are still up in the lifetime rivalry wins......... Not much consolation for the last 9 years though. Congrats to ASU and as much as it pains me I'll be rooting for them in the Holiday Bowl, anytime a Pac-10 team can get a W im stoked. How do you get an ASU graduate off of your porch?.........................Pay them for the Pizza!!! How many ASU freshman does it take to change a light bulb?..............Were not sure, thats sophomore year coursework. If you want to know the hardest part about being an ASU fan PM me......................That way I don't offend everyone in one day. BEAR DOWN!!!

Help me name my new dog!

I used to have a golden retriever named Moose......... However I think that Artemis would be a great name. After all Artemis was the Greek Goddess of hunting, she was also pulled around in a chariot pulled by 4 deer with golden horns. Im assuming they were all matching 130 inch whiteys.....haha
