So I was lucky enough to draw a bull archery tag: 4B. I know the area fairly well but usually hunt on my own. Dont know if that will be a wise option knowing what it takes to get an animal this big out n to the butcher in a timely manner. If anyone would like to share camp or have a hunting partner I'd be happy to team up. Ill start scouting hard around mid May if anyone wants to join me. If anyone wants to give me any pointers ill happily take those also since this is my first elk hunt. Thanks and good luck on the scouting and tagging out process

Go onto the website Bloodydecks.com and go to the California section. You will see many six packs to choose from or join the site and all kinds of people will tell you which ones they prefer. Some of the cattle boats arent that bad really. Some have limited charters of 22 people and sometimes they go with as little as 12 so just do your homework and you'll find a good one

Yeah I think this has happened to more than us than would like to admit. Happened to me about 4 or 5 years ago. As long as you learn from the mistake. Take whatever weapon you have with u always bc it seems to work out that an animal far off always comes into range when you're not prepared. Funny how that happens
