    Which Trail Cam?

Bass- Give making a homebrew a shot.....its much easier than it looks and if you can find one of the cameras (that are used for homebrews) for a good price on ebay it shouldnt cost you too much. It quite an accomplisment to get pics of your animals with something you've built. Go with the Bigfoot board as I have heard nothing but good about them. hagshouse.com
  2. BASS-The cams are digital and we do use rechargeable batteries. It gets pretty expensive otherwise! We actually build our own digital trailcams for more than half the price of the "good" retail ones. We use 4 MP sony cams that work great and the finished product is a lot smaller than the ones you find in the store. If your interested in building one of your own there are a few websites that can help....here is one.... www.hagshouse.com.... its lots of fun but as I am sure others will agree....it is very addicting! KDH- Believe me it is tough keeping them out that long. We are constintently having to tell each other to wait.......... RUSSD- We put them all over..... we like the hiking part of it and both need the excersise ...its up north!

Badlands 4500 and Ruger 44 redhawk

Pistol is sold. Pack Reduced to 250.00 shipped!
  8. Hey all, Thought I'd give first dibs to all you great folks here at CWT.com on a couple of things I am selling. I have paypal and that would be easiest but checks or in person is good too! Send me PM if interested in either First, I've got a badlands 4500. It is in great condition. The only thing wrong with this pack is a small hole torn in the fabric by a stick was patched by me with an iron on patch. I have included pictures of the pack and the patch. These things are tough and Lifetime guaranteed so you'll never have to buy another! I cant find them for less than 350.00 on the net so for CWT members only the first 270.00 gets it and thats shipped right to your door insurance included. Next, is a Ruger Redhawk 44 mag. Its stainless steel and has the 5.5 inch barrel. It is in great condition too. It had a scope mounted to it which slightly marred the frame but it might be able to be polished out? I have included pics of it too. It has pachmeyer grips and comes with about 100 rounds of ammo and of course the scope mount. This one can be had for 350.00 from CWT members. I wont be able to ship this one but can certainly meet someone half way if they leave far.

  10. Just thought I'd share some of my pictures from the last 3 weeks with all of you as I enjoy seeing all of yours. It stated out in Montana for some Muley bucks and Antelope and then off to 36C for some Coues only to end in New Mexico unit 24 with some of the best hunting buddies a guy could have! Most are not coues but I thought you'd like them anyway. And yes....hunter orange was worn in Montana, I just prefer NOT to wear it in pictures :-) not the big one, but a good last hour buck! another another another another another
  11. Looks like we all had the same idea with that beautiful moon. This shot is through my canon s2 with the 1.7 telo lense.

    Badlands pack

Ok fellas, this wont last long so getti-up. Very slightly used Badlands 2200 pack. Everyone knows these things are solid comfortable packs so I wont go into that here. They go for 160 in the stores and on ebay. How does 110 shipped and insured sound to all you Coues hunters. Its as brand new as used can be.....you wont be dissapointed! Jarrod PM or just respond
  18. I got mine on ebay new for 270. Here is one now going off in a few minutes for 255 http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Canon-PowerShot-S2...1QQcmdZViewItem
  19. the doe with converter They run about 300 bucks.....smokin deal for a great cam. The flower as promised for my flower loving buddy Kirk
  20. I too use the Canon S2 IS. Its a great camera! It takes great pictures, but is a little big to be packin around all day although I do mine. I did however get the teleconverter for mine which gives it 1.7X more zoom. You can really reach out and touch them with the converter, but the pictures get a bit hazy. Here are some pics. The rabbit was about 50 yards away. The mule deer 600 yards away. The doe about 80 yards away and the flower....well it was about 20 yards away! bucks on a rainy day with teloconverter

    Developing Loads

Keep in mind that some bullets shoot better out certain guns too so dont be afraid to try different bullet types too. My brother and I went out shooting the other day with our 300 ultra mags to find the "perfect" load and bullet combo and we sure were surprised at what we found. We reloaded 4 types of bullets (Accubond, Partition, TripleShock, and CombinesTech Fail safe) with IMR powder. Then we reloaded the same 4 bullets with Reloader 25 powder. He has a savage and I have a remington. Off the bench I started with the RL25 and accubonds....about a 3 inch group at 100....HORRIBLE. His gun shot this combo a bit better but still not impressive. Then the tripleshocks......again......remington....2.5 inch group, but the savage loved this little load less than .5 inch. Now the partition.......remington......2.5 and savage about the same. As soon as I put the Combined Technology Fail Safe in the Remington she started spittin out .5 inch groups or better, but the savage didnt like them as much as he was still around the 2 inch mark. The diffence between the IMR and the RL25 wasnt quite as noticeable as the bullet selection. My gun still shot the fail safes great and his the Barnes. Give something like that a try....we started with about 5 grains less than MAX load according to the book. I also know that powder charge can play a big role in some guns so once you found your bullet and your powder you can start varying your charge......have fun.
  25. I couldnt reisist posting this when I found it on my trail cam this week.
