Amanda, Black bears do alot of that tree girdling in this country. Were there several trees that were girdled like that? I see it more in the spruce fir than in the pines. I believe they are feeding on the cambium layer of the tree as well as bugs. I worked with Stan Cunnigham an expert on bears in the state doing a research project in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) areas and I learned alot from him. Charlie

Is that the place where the Spidey Bull grew up before he was killed!!!!!!!!

I've had a couple of buddy's get tickets in the mail and they ignored them like they never got them. They've been pulled over several months later and the officers never mentioned them or said there was a warrant. I guess if you don't get served at your house and say you never received it you'd be fine.

300ultramag, your right I don't get much sleep. I had him at 125 yards 2 years ago and slipped around a rock for a good rest and then saw a 100 inch buck looking down at me and thought it was still him and shot him and it wasn't. It was his buddy who went 105. The buck dropped and the monster popped out behind a tree and stood there for ten minutes. Last year I hunted him archery and had a bear blow him out a couple times. I'm kinda glad now cause he's even bigger this year. Here's a pic from him last year. Enjoy

I have a late rifle bull tag. I took a 380 bull 2 years ago, so I'm not looking for anything smaller. I'm not saying I won't shoot another 380 bull but the goal is something better. I will hold to that until the last day or so and probably would then shoot anything 370 or better. Scouting could change those plans, but with all the moisture we've been getting in my unit, I think it's going to be a great year.

Is it raining where you live?

It's rained real good today in Lakeside and has been raining off and on up here since Monday. -
I got these two photos about a month and a half ago. Pretty remote area. The 1st picture looks like a javelina to me. The ears and the eyes for sure. The second picture 4 seconds later of what appears to be a chow I'm guessing. It's got short legs and definitely a tail and paws. Pretty weird

I was out around Greens Peak today and they had most of the roads plowed. They had the 117 road plowed from US 60 til the junction right at Greens Peak but from there to 260 wasn't plowed yet. They were plowing the 61, 65 and 96 roads today.

Braden, Congrats on a great bird.

I have been very lucky and have seen 13 lions in Arizona. Glassed up 8 of them. The rest of them ran across the road. I have buddy's that haven't seen but a couple but are out there just as much as me. You just never know.

Mr. Dalton? Come on. Once again you have to start calling people names. If someone doesn't agree with you, you have to get personal and call them out or call them names. Why can't you just let people state their opinion.

Hope that made you feel better and helped with your insecurity problems.

I didn't put in for New Mexico so I don't have any bias one way or another. The computers crashed and that's the bottom line, it doesn't really matter whether people waited or not. They have their reasons whether it be money, time, work, or wanted to wait til the last minute it really doesn't matter cause they were still trying to apply during the allocated application period. What I like about this website is the knowledge of people and how you can express your opinion but Scottyboy do you really have to call people out "Prescott Boys" come on, grow up. It seems everytime you post your getting sideways with someone. There are plenty of other websites for that nonsense so have at it.

Durand, Here's the pictures resized. Hopefully it works.

Been watching a few bulls heading to work everyday and the kids had early release today, so why not go and try to find some bone. Glassed one up and sent my son in that direction and he found it. Got back to truck and I saw the palmated one sitting about 20 yards from my truck. So I sent my daughter that way and she found it, not sure how I missed it originally. But it was alot of fun. I'm very competitive and had to hear all night how they each found one and I didn't, but that's alright there's always tomorrow. Ha

Dur, Great outing and hope you find that right side. Don't mind my truck there in the morning I'm just gonna be out looking around for firewood.

That is one awesome shed, and to see the guy it came from is great too. Good luck to him on finding the fresh ones or being able to put a tag on him

Braden, Congrats on the pig. How cool were the coati's climbing around on the rocks. Charlie

MI man fined and revoked for killing elk too close to homes
cdenton replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
How does a guy get the shaft if he broke the law and got busted for it? It's only the guides responsibility to know where they are hunting at. That's a bunch of garbage. He broke the law and got what he deserved. Should McClendon have got in trouble, of course he should of. -
One of my hunting buddy's Greg drew the same October hunt as me this year and with all the moisture we've had we knew it was going to be a great hunt. I was holding out for a specific buck I've been watching for a year and screwed that up but on to Greg's hunt. Greg was holding out for a 100 inch buck and with what we had seen scouting this seemed to be very achievable. We saw a lot of does with twin fawns which is great to see. As the hunt started of course all the big guys we had seen scouting had disappeared to the thick stuff. With all the feed out there the deer didn't seem to be moving a whole lot. If they were near water there wasn't much need for them to move with the abundance of grass, juniper berries and steroid acorns. One morning I glassed up a mountain lion with two kittens. They were probably only a few weeks old, We watched them as they played and attempted UFC moves on each other. About ten minutes later a bear we had seen for a few days walked within 100 yards of them. That was a moment I will never forget. We decided to hunt a tank on Tuesday morning. About 8:30 am (which we rarely saw a deer move before then the whole hunt) I saw movement and noticed a gorgeous buck on his was down the hill towards the tank. We were already in position for a shot as we waited the 10 minutes for him to get to the tank. As he finally reached the tank, Greg was able to connect on this buck. We grossed him right at 104. Congrats to Greg on a great buck.

Albert, Congrats to you and Dur for a couple of great Mule Deer Bucks. Dur looks a little hungover in that picture. Nah, just giving him a hard time. I met you a few years back. Durand and I were roomates for a while. If anybody can find those Mule Deer Bucks it's Durand. Congrats again on two awesome bucks and executing a perfect plan! Charlie
