    Theyre up!!!!!!!

ALLRIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dad and I drew the same unit and hunts as the last three years. EARLY rifle for two weeks. first week my Coues then his Mulie the second week. Awesome!!!! I can't wait to get back and see the same groups of bucks in the same places ( with any luck). Halloween hunts are the best. Will pray for a drop in tempature and wind from the north. My Uncle cousin and buddy all drew unit 1 archery tags. Considering useing my muzzleloader this time. Maybe. Ohh and we all drew over the counter archery tags for 40 units state wide early and late hunts for muley or coues!!!!

    mystery creature

You got a Big dude too Amanda!!! Looks like he's walkin left to right, "bearly" got some of his back fur in there, the backwards swing of the arm extended showing his bicep and forearm as he cruised by , you "bearly" missed his big ol' hand but maybe next time. If he's 7 foot and and your camera was bout four-five feet off ground I'd lower it a foot for a definate hand shot or raise it for the head shot Sell it for$ millions $ .

    mystery creature

The first picture is his shoulder with sweaty ruffled hair after a summer afternoon snooze, the second an obvious primate arm and the third picture is one side of his/ her chest and stainky armpit ( notice the long matted hair, he's sweatin too, must be nervous about the thing. Or, the worlds smartest yogi evading " security cameras" lookin for a picanic basket to swipe, maybe. I'm a conspiracy theorist so I say BIGFOOT!! Or yes Yogi himself, but he's far from yellowstone!!! Ohh and the world is flat, people will never fly or go in space, Obama will save the world, and smokeing is good for you.

    What rifle is better!!!

I believe a man can pick up allmost any firearm and get the job done if he shoots well, given the weapon shoots true. It's all personal preference and homework from there on to find YOUR favorite. Then getting to know that firearm, what it can do, and what you can do with it. And we all know ammunition is a huge factor. You can kill a deer with a 75$ 22. and a 5 cent bullet at 100yds IF you had too. we all know that. Personal favorite though. Good ol 308. then 30-06. 0r 300mag or7mm. Troops practiced from 500 out to 800yds with the old M-14's and Open sights. Many could put ALL their shots in a mans chest from that far. They didn't call them Expert Marksman for nothing. Of course with all the fancy calibers, optics and loads out now, one can achieve that range without Thousands of rounds of practice and months on the range. So how far or close do you want to be is probly a question to ask yourself. 100 yds is a Challenge with a 30-30. and open sights or 500yds with a 308. and a 9x32 or even 800yds with the most high tech rifles, scope, ammo and even the claw and its still a heck of a shot. Throw elevation, wind, buckfever, time, fadeing light or whatever in the mix and well. It's all a challenge. No matter what you carry. Be confident in what you carry and the shot you're takeing.

    Well.........Were waiting!!!!!

Some REALLY nice animals I missed and ones I'm enjoying to see again. Thanks for sharin, CONGRATS to all and good luck this season. Love that 11 pointer or 1x1 , or was that 11 inches?Ha, Awesome . Gotta get me one of those, yummy. All the big racks, horns, tusks etc. and that ones making me drool the most !! Now who's holding out ?
  22. AZantlerhead

    Well.........Were waiting!!!!!

I second that!! ohh and lets see the bucks from last season to get everyone pumped!!! post umm up, even those MASSIVE Spikes!!, a deer is a harvest, a kill, a trphy, a meal and a memory . Heres the three our family got last year.Applied for the same hunts My first coues My uncles first deer Dad's first bowkill, NM, he got drawn again, same unit, Nov rifle instead of Jan Bow, In NM you can't have a "Quality hunt" two years in a row. In my opinion early rifle is just as good as late bow . Let's see umm fellas and fellerets!!! I wanna see a spike too!! if one walks in front of my bow he's in grave danger!!!

    Bone Pile!

If those horns could talk.............. Nice pile!!!

    Decent Coues Shed

Dandy buck!!! Descent is understatemant. A 85" bucky is the average " descent buck" Got that whooped with that bone don't ya! Javis and dogs, well. I know exactly what you mean my friend Try to make this short but I usually don't... Javis are no joke when you got a dog by your side. I've ben into trouble twice with My Dog Ol' boy with those suckers. I know what you mean. I actually had to kick one as it charged in gunning for my leg, got lucky, walloped him and he turned to help his buddy tare up my dog, wich had gotten in between me and the pigs. The outcome is classified. The other time I thought there was a bear in the brush on our trail. The dog went into the brush, I RAN to the top of the hill and waited. Calling and calling into the draw for a couple hours and ol' boy finally makes it back to me, Shredded but alive- with a mouth full of javi hair. Takeing a dog into the woods is a huge responsibility. After that last one i don't take him anymore. he's stood of 5 rattlers, Defended me from bears on 4 occasions( i have a thing with bears) who i believe would have mouled me had he not ben there(woke me up twice), but he stood them off. Ohh he's ben porcupined three times, lost part his ear to a coon.... Needless to say I don't take him out anymore, Stinks cause he had found his first shed on his 2nd to last trip out. Safer for my pet and the wildlife for him to stay at home. Still debateing if i want to get a strictly( hunting dog) not a pet. It's great haveing a canine with you in the wilds!. If you love um or even like umm i'd think twice. Lions and javis and bears ohh my..........Rattlers, porcupines, coons, badgers, skunks, hmm what else, Ranchers with wild dog fever, bee hives, tarantulas, trigger happy nut in the woods ( you sure that wernt a dog cletus?) " look like a doe to me jethro!) sandspurs, jagged rocks, and cliffs, He ran after a doe and i never seen him again?, Someone stole my 1000 dollar purebred man! ? Feral hogs, never seen one till today, and they killed my dog!? Did you know a pack of yotes will kill a dog, yeah they got mine? Hate to throw the if card. But old boy nailed half that list, lucky to be alive, feel bad for ever putting him in those situations, yes he would die for me..... Like i said, think twice before takeing your pet to the woods.... Hope i saved someone a vet bill or burial.....
