trophytaker and snapshot-I understand your frustration. I have had my share of frustration about non action and no response from G&F as well as forest service law enforcement. I love to fly fish and Canyon Creek is one of my favorite places in Arizona. I have seen countless people fishing with bait, carrying stringers of fish and doing all sorts of illegal activities on the catch and release, artifical lures and flies only section of Canyon Creek. I have called operation game thief, even driven to the fish hatchery on upper canyon creek and told them that people were down below fishing with bait and keeping fish, and the only time I have seen a G&F officer on lower Canyon Creek was during elk season when they were checking tags. I still don't think that slashing the guys tires is the answer. If none of us obey any laws we would have total chaos. My two cents worth.

I didn't say take no action. I agree with the last sentence in your reply-If you have no respect for laws or property you pay the price. If you are justified to wreck the guys property because he broke the law, is he justified to hit you over the head with a rock when he finds you destroying his property-because you are breaking the law? If the guy was setting on the atv would you go up and start destroying the vehicle? Get law enforcement to enforce the law-take a picture, write down a license plate, get a vehicle i.d. number and get law enforcement involved. I don't own an atv but I don't think that it's my duty or right or whatever to destroy anyones personal property because they break the law with it. Do you think that the people that owned those atv's won't do the same thing again because of your act of vandilism? I doubt it.

I completely agree that all atv's need to be used responsibly and people who do otherwise threaten the privilage of all responsible users. That being said, there is no justification to destroy someone's personal property because they do something you don't agree with. This is the same metality as some one who keys a car in a parking lot or paints grafitti on some ones house in the dark of night. Don't lower yourself to the same level as others who have no respect for laws or property.

Hunting Stimulus Plan
jackshoe replied to Simple Hunter's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
The flaws in your plan is that it is logical and would generate positive cash flow-two things that the federal government abhor-so it will never be accepted. -
when guns are outlawed...............
jackshoe replied to .270's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
What a crock-it's already illegal for citizens of old mexico to own a firearm. How can anyone with half of even one wit think that making something illegal will stop an outlaw from doing it? If guns are outlawed in the U.S. our citizenry will be in the same boat as the citizens of Mexico-at the mercy of outlaws who don't give a rats hiney about what is or isn't legal. The only people affected will be law abiding people-who no longer will have the tools to protect themselves. -

Game and Fish should sell tags-get drawn and kill a trophy jackass-have the ears mounted. not a bad idea. Ted B. -
The guy that owns desert pheasant recreation has a hunting concession in Texas-give them a call or look them up at the ISE show at Cardinals stadium. They are always at the show doing bird dog training demos.

What about a New Topic?
jackshoe replied to gonhntn's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I can't imagine anything neater than watching a good dog make a solid point and the look of pure glee on their face when they bring the bird to hand of their best friend, mentor, and hunting partner. If swatting flies were this much fun, I'd leave the doors open and shovel some horse ca ca in the living room. -

If the meat doesn't smell bad it probably isn't bad-I don't like the part about the backstraps pulling off though. Freeze it and you will know if it's bad when you start cooking it. Next time if you have a good blood trail I would recommend that you give the animal some time and get on the trail with a blood light or lantern and a gps. Good luck with the meat.

Witnessed an Attempted Murder

I have no problem with shooting varmits-what I don't get is the hatred towards the coyotes-what do you think a coyote is supposed to eat in a natural environment-purina granola bars? -
Got to go to yuma again this year and hunt some pheasants. This is the forth year that I have been fortunate enough to have either a state G&F tag or a Cocopah pheasant tag to start the upland season off. The farm land along the Colorado river holds a good population of wild birds, and it's a fun way to start getting the dogs in shape for quail season. This was the first real bird hunt that my Vizsla Delbert got to go on three years ago when he was eight months old. He and three of his litter mates were more into running and playing then, but soon found that the scent of a bird was much more interesting than wrestling with their brothers and sisters. They're grown up now(sort of) and are much more business like-as soon as they get the initial gallon or so of adrnalene burned off. I haven't posted anything before but if I did this right there should be a picture here of Delbert with a couple of pheasants he let me shoot for him.
