    WTB wall tent

I have a couple wall tents, They are hard to beat. I got one from www.walltentshop.com a few years ago and made my own frame. There is alot of flexibility when building your own frame. I put a few pictures on here to look at, maybe too many. Hope this helps

    Night hunting for lions!

I wonder how many animals are being EDUCATED while calling at night. Seems to me there will be alot of animals come to the call only to be spooked by hunters instead of being harvested.

My New 1000 yard F-Class Rifle

    Beautiful rifle
  6. My son took his first coues buck today at about 9:00. Buck green scores 117 7/8. He killed the buck at 256 yards with a 7mm-08. We have one more tag to fill. We glassed up the buck before sun was up across a big canyon. After a stalk and a miss, we closed the deal around 9. He did a great job when a 95" came walking out I didnt know if had enough time to tell him to wait a minute. I did hear his say bag a few times on him though. Then when the big boy stepped out and turned broadside he dropped in his tracks. He has way more patience than I do. I think I was shaking more than he was. What a fun experience. Heres a few pics- enjoy-Jeff

  14. So my friend John and I get off work, throw some gear in the truck and head up for a weekend of bear hunting. This is the third time this year we have done this so we are getting pretty good at it. By time we get to the hunting area it is just to late. We end up varmit calling one spot but nothing came in. Next morning we are up before light get a little grub, make sure I have batteries for foxpro and we are off. We make 3 stands Sat morning and nothing is coming in but we find alot of fresh sign so we are hopefull. About 9 we are headed back to the truck and we are just walking real quiet when we come up on the water that we had sat and called first thing in the morning. I catch a little movement by the water, it looks like a cow which seemed normal there are alot of cattle in the area. Then he turned his head and there was a whopper of a bear, I raised up my 7mm-08 and put one in the boiler room. He took off out of there in a flash, I put two more into him before he crashed about 50 yards away. We were amazed at how huge this guy was. I remembered him though from a trail cam picture I got in September. Im no bear expert but i think this guy was 450 and 500 pounds. We had to use a couple of tow straps and the truck to pull him out of the canyon he was in so that we could wok on him. After the 4 hours of messing with my bear we kept talking about what we were going to do for the evening hunt. Since we found that the bears were eating acorns we figured varmit calling was a long shot at best we decided to sit another water that we had seen fresh sign on. So we parked about a 1/2 mile away, sneak in to our spot. Wind is perfect, woods are queit, and we get settled in. After the busy morning my eyes decide to shut for a quick nap. we weren't there 10 minutes and I hear John wisper BEAR, then BOOM. I see this bear rolling head over tail down the hill. He fell to Johns 338 Edge that he built this year. It was about a 75 yard shot. We look at each other in disbelief, It was an amazing day! We took abunch of pictures, rolled up camp and headed home to get these bears to the taxidermist. Both were boars and Johns was about 200 lbs.

    Fall Black Bear

That was a great story and an even better video. Congrats on a great archery bear. Thanks for the laugh!
  17. He was shooting a 300 gr Lapua hollow point. It flipped the bear completely over backwards. The exit hole was huge. Made a mess of the bear.

    bow hunting dilema

What unit did you have the emu come in? I believe you could've taken it with your bow. I hear they have tasty meat too.
  21. Thursday evening I'm on the road headed North for the opener of archery turkey and deer. I get in before the rain hits, run to a little spot I've been watching throughout the summer for turkeys. I set up my ground blind, check my trail cam, and put my chair in the blind. I set up a cot, a tarp and a little fire to burn a hamburger and call it a night. The alarm came quick, I got some clothes on and went to my blind. The turkeys were talking at 6:15 all around me, finally at 6:45 3 hens came in and stood long enough for a G5 to ruin here day. Took some pictures, picked up camp and hauled butt down south to meet up with my friend Matt Woodward of Borderland Adventures. I showed up around 2 on Friday afternoon, by 3 we were stalking a 160 class mulie buck with some smaller bucks in tow. Well they gave us the slip as well as a couple of other bucks that evening. Saturday we found ourselves glassing some mulies and whitetails. Finding multiple bucks throughout the day kept the excitement up. With five guys in camp there was alot of coins being flipped on who was to stalk first and where they would go, ect. ect. With the heat like it was Matt told me of a little seep that he remembered from a few years previous, so I decided to give it a try on Sunday afternoon. I set up in front of a mesquite 34 yards uphill from the water. With the wind going in the right direction I was very hopeful of something making an apperance. After about two hours and a little cat napping I opened my eyes to a doe standing there at the water. I was just enjoying the view when I caught a little movement below me. It was a nice buck slinking towards the water. When he got close to the water the doe left. He walked behind a small mesquite which gave me the opportunity to draw my bow. He took a couple of steps and stood in my shooting lane for just a second too long. I sent a muzzy into his heart, he went about 70 yards straight down hill before piling up. I'd like to thank Matt of Borderland Adventures for putting me into some awsome deer country and into some awsome deer. Over the three days with him we saw around twenty bucks. Both Mulies and Whitetails. Enough of the writing heres some pictures, enjoy. The buck scored 95 1/8 gross.-Jeff turkey1 (Small).bmp DEER2 (Small).bmp
