I’d recommend using the Chirp software. I checked and your radio is compatible. There are a lot of YT videos out there on how to use it. https://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Home

Cody, you come help a new guy (me) find a buck in 22 right now and I’ll program your radios for you! Kidding (sort of). Like the above person said, make sure you get your license first. Google “how to get GMRS license” Once you have the license, use MyGMRS.com to find nearby repeaters. What kind of radio did you get?

Awesome video. What unit?

Lightly used Bono X case with hydration pouch on the backside. Fits my 15x56 SLCs. $50 FTF in Phoenix

Talk to me about game bags. Is there a big difference between brands? How many liters do I need for a coues buck? Was looking at getting the Kuiu Large Deer set. Overkill?

Thanks everyone for the advice!

What’s the consensus on rifle bipods? I’m currently planning on shooting off my pack, which is how I’ve been practicing, but was wondering if the majority of you use something else.

Kenzie’s optics will do $540 shipped for the Garmin if you email them btw. -

I recognize you said Garmin is too expensive, but I’ve used both the traditional bunny-ears type and just got the Garmin. Holy cow is the $ worth it for the Garmin. No setup. If you’re at a public range, no need to wait for cease fire. Data collection is very handy. -
I’ll be at Phx Rod and Gun this afternoon at 3p. Will be bringing my brand-spanking-new Garmin chronograph. If you need a chrono read and want to join, send me a DM. One spot only, first come first serve.

Loved it! Very easy to setup.

Where is the “brush pit” for those of us uninformed?

Pretty reliable out to 200. After that it’s hit or miss. Furthest read I’ve gotten is 500, but it took a lot of trying. I just need something that will reliably hit 500+. Meet near Tatum and Shea in Phoenix. $50

Unit 33 has a ton of diversity… Saguaros to ponderosa. Such a beautiful unit. Can’t help with deer tips, but I know the south side of the mountain pretty well and am happy to answer any questions about good places to camp if you DM me. -
Seeing lots of “cot” responses… I have never used one. What do you cot aficionados recommend?
