I Have a question for all of you. What if you hang a store bought stand and you go to sit it and somebody is in it.I would tell the person he could sit the tank ,but I would be taking my property down. Also years ago I had a archery elk tag and had set up a store bought stand about three weeks before the season.Of course I walked around the entire tank to see if anybody else had set up.I get there the day before season and somebody has set up a ground blind. We were hunting a area with very few camps and that night a guy drives up to our camp and tells us he is going to sit that tank.It was very plain to see that he knew we had set up before him.He had a young boy with him and we told him to go for it.It was not worth making a big deal out of it.Why would you take it down?? Why not let him sit it and tell him you were planning on sitting it the next day or whenever you were planning on.. Just because he got there first and sat your stand, it does not mean he screwed you.. For all you know he could have been watching that spot for some time and didn't end up putting "his stand" in the tree because one beat him to it. At that point, I think the first come first serve should be recognized... yes, believe me I would be frustrated about it but "it is what it is". If the spot is good, leave it up and work with him on it. If it's a plan B spot and you can't get over it then take it down--- it just seems to me it would be easier to work it out with whoever beat you there that day. Like you said, some things are not worth making a big deal over. Good luck this year though...

is that salt you dumped out there??

That's funny but that can easily turn into major awkward moment... who the heck leaves a note like that!! like you said-- that's a pretty broad statement.. good luck with it.

Thanks guys-- I added a different post with a look at this guy from last year... i'm thinking it's the same buck--- what say you??

I would recommend putting beef jerkey on your boots.. the original flavor. It actually works as an attractant for coues deer. try it-- just make sure you stay the heck away from my stand zeddro--- what are you, new to this game or what? Don't you hunt with the best out there? Good luck this year suckka

Alright, now I'm sketchin that all my cams are going to get ripped off! I still think it's worth the risk because of their effectiveness. Just out of curiosity though-- as far as "the letter of the law" is concerned, even if you did identify who someone is that takes a camera-- is it not "public property" as it is out in the public forest hanging on a tree?? Don't get me wrong here-- I know it is stealing plain as day and anyone who takes one realizes that as well but again as far as busting someone for it-- how is that going to happen?? Has anyone asked the game and fish about it? I think the most justice you will get is posting them online and actually figuring out who it is and then the ridicule is on!! Another question-- I just went out to check a spot that I have 2 cams on and then I notices that someone else showed up and hung their camera on the same freakin spot! I know I don't own the spot but give me a break-- is there no other spots to hang a camera--- What are all of your thoughts on that subject??
Good luck everyone-- only a few more weeks!!

Look at the Leaf River game cameras--- They are a solid set up and very secure! I've had a great time with mine. You'll gat what you pay for in the long run.

I just pulled my cam last week and I have several pics of this Buck!! (and many more) These pics were taken on JUNE 26,2008---- JULY 2, 2008.. does anyone have any guess how big this one might turn out to be?? In my opinion, that is alot of growth for this early in the summer.... It will be nice if he sticks around!! Let's here some guesses!

I agree with you, I would not sit in someone's store bought 'fresh stand', as long as it was hung up that season-- but what about the stands that people seem to leave up all year long?? I've seen a ton of those and I don't end up putting my stands up on those spots. On those spots with stands that have been hung for years and left there-- I do not hesitate to sit them... had the stand not taken a permanent presence-- I would have gladly hung my own.
Good luck this year!
