So, what was the result? I have a .257 that I may "allow" my fiancee to use, possibly on elk. Thanks!!

Ross is an awesome resource for hunting. I purchased a couple of Jim White tripod heads from them at awesome prices. They seem to be committed to superb customer service and want to make sure you are taken care of!!

Apache7mm, awesome photos!!!!!

Saw a white dodge pick-up, eastbound on I-10, 4:40 am, Thursday 12/15/11. Ranger Boat Sticker on driver side rear window, Coues Whitetail sticker on the passenger side rear window.

I think it will be a good choice, although I also thought Stoops was a good choice. The good thing is that Rich is experienced as a head coach, which Stoops wasn't. I guess it will all boil down to what happens after a couple of years and what his record is against ASU!!!!

What sort of tripod/tripod head are you running?

I bought a Jim White tripod head, I love it! Went out and bought another! -
I will take the dual mount if you still have it. PM sent

Don't let the scumbags deter your hunting! Plenty of good members here will help you out, in fact, I have a .257 Weatherby you can use if needed, Just needs a couple of rounds to verify zero.

They are a great mount. I have one on my Weatherby .257 and it works great!

If you feel the need to "score" an animal, I believe what Chef said "if the animal grew it, give it all the credit. Gross score rules!" The "score" is a record of the animal, not a score of the hunter.....

Congrats on all the muleys! You gotta love the group photo!!!!

Just my two cents worth, I loved my Vortex until I got the Swarovskis........

I have one of these exact tents. I have had it in some strong winds, snow, rain, and everything else you can think of. I have never had a problem and I love the room in it. Best money I have ever spent on a camping gear. I have the same tent and completely agree, snow, rain, wind, it handles it all!

My apologies, I thought I was just passing on some advice......

Yeah, it is not good to burn, also not a good idea to cook over. As for Wikipedia, we all know how accurate they are....

Does it have an area where you hook-up a water hose? Is the frame metal or composite?

+1 Love using the Jim White head. It's small, lightweight and very sturdy. No problems using it with my 15s or a spotting scope. The bogen 700rc2s are nice as well, but much larger and heavier. If you plan to do a lot of video, this head is probably best for that. +1 for Jim's tripod head. I have 2 and thinking about a 3rd.

I have not had any personal experience with big eyes, but I have heard that you will drive your self crazy with the continuous adjustments on both eye pieces to get in focus. Just a thought to think about.

I am considering purchasing a Swarovski scope from The Outdoorsman and the ballistic turrets they offer for the Swarovski scopes. Just interested if anybody has used them and what where your results? Thanks!
-
I have seen on some setups where you can only use the turrets with the scope @ max magnification. Is this the case in either of your guy's setups?
-
Have you tried CraigsList or Backpage? I am sure someone would take it off your hands there.

Good Luck Doug! Your luck translates into good deals for all of us, so go find some good stuff!

Take a look at the Swarovski 7x42 SLC. I carry them always when in the field. Good magnification, perfect clarity, extremely bright because of the huge exit pupil diameter.
