question about august archery in the desert

I thought u were gonna say it was stolen! Better knocked over than gone. The other thing u might learn pretty quick is to clear any grass, limbs, bushes that may blow in the wind and set it off. Ive had 1000's of pics of the wind blowing....

What? No guess the Time/Date Contest?

The last one was such a fiasco maybe noone has any energy to thru that again. The whole cards getting charged, not getting charged, cards rejected, still a chance cause they're still charging, 10 day pre draw circus was too much for me. I hope this one goes better.

    2012 Goals

A strip archery tag and hopefully some good opportunities to seal the deal on a nice buck relatively early in the hunt (preferably). If I don't draw then at least one stalk a day and maybe a chance or two for a bear and turkey would be nice. A 42jr tag for my boy and his first buck would be awesome. Lastly, enough gas $ to do it right!

    Archery cow VRS Archery Bull

I would hunt em the same I do bulls. Chase the bugles and sneak in. Water or salt thats getting hit hard would also work if you like to sit. Trophy rock works really well for elk in my spots. My boy killed his cow on the jr hunt from a blind on a dirt tank. If you sit try sprayin the hole area with cow in heat urine to let em know where the partys at.

    Who is ready for august

Not ready at all cause I have to see if I draw. Don't have the gas $ to scout my normal spots - have to save every penny if I draw. If I don't draw I'll run out and drop cams and get in a couple trips before the opener.

    Quad Trailer Clearance

I'm looking to purchase a small (1 quad) trailer i can take along for extra gear (and eventually a quad) needed for extended/remote trips that will require some off road travel and am worried about clearance. Are 14" rims with bigger tires the answer or would it be ok with the standard 12"?

Well I had a repeat - eyecups fixed, lenses not even though they said they would. Talked to them again and will be sending them in a 3rd time.

question about august archery in the desert

Get a security box, cable, and lock, spray paint camo pattern, and conceal it with natural vegatation when u put it in. I don't put mine on spots without enough cover to conceal and lock it to for fear of theft. One option is to back track the most used trail into the water and set ur can off water. This has worked well on holes with easy access or lack of concealment. Cams are fun cause u get an idea of what's in the area, when they come in and how much use a spot is really getting-something that would reqiure u sitting there 24/7. Since 2008 I've only had 1 cam stolen.

question about august archery in the desert

My cams have shown me a little bit of all times. Sunrise, sunset, 9 am, 1 pm, dark hours up to 105 degrees. If the area has been on a long dry spell on an isolated water, sometimes 2x a day. + 1 on putting out cams to see what they're doin on the holes ur watching.

    Nikon Binocular Warranty

Stay on em cause I just got my estimate approval notice which only talked about my cracked eyecups even though I requested them AND my lenses to be repaired . I called em back and made sure they knew I wanted the lenses evaluated also.and the estimate was updated for a lens cleaning but still vague about scratches so I'm gona call again.

    Nikon Binocular Warranty

I'm gonna have to try again with mine then. I sent mine in 2 years ago with scratch and cracked eye cup with the understanding they'd fix both or replace. Sent back with scratches unfixed but eye cup was. Will try again.
  20. Good luck! You should get your lifetime license before you leave...I know I would.

    Trail cam placement

The trophy rock gets hammered by elk for sure. Coues hit it as well but mine are up north. Mule deer seem to hit it the least. I like the t rock because it blends in pretty well and not as obvious to other hunters.
