1. Buglin' Big Bulls was one of the first elk hunting videos I had ever seen. Produced by John McClendon and Mike Whelan, it show cased a MONSTER 400" bull taken with the Arizona Raffle Permit. This is probably one of the best call-in scenes you will ever see on a bull of this caliber. Check-out this classic bull and awesome video! 2. We were browsing through some Mule Deer videos online and we came across this GIANT Public Land Mule Deer buck. We aren't sure what state it was filmed in, but it doesn't matter, we just appreciate Big Old Mule Deer! Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Idaho & Utah are some of the states that cross our mind when it comes to big old mule deer bucks. What state is this buck from? View the full article
3. Richelle's first bull elk taken in 2008.The excitement level is starting to pick up around our small house. Richelle drew two limited entry draw tags this year and her third elk hunt begins in less than a month. Shortly after her elk hunt ends, her first rifle mule deer hunt begins.Richelle isn't a female hunter that is pretending to be an expert, which tends to be a trend nowadays. Honestly, she wants no part of this. She hunts because she wants to be involved in my passion and likes it. Both my mom and sister are hunters, although they don't hunt every year, they still do hunt.Richelle's second big game animal taken in 2006.By no means, am I trying to say there are not any female hunting experts, because I am sure there are many worthy of that title. I just wanted to address this issue before it crossed your mind. You can't ignore the EXPLOSION of women inside the industry. I believe a lot of this is because of sex appeal and not because of their skill level, which can show the shallowness of our male brains. If you ever get a chance to go to the S.H.O.T. Show you will understand what I am talking about. With that being said, I believe my wife is the sexiest woman on earth, so I am not saying she can't be a sexy expert hunter. I am just saying... Hmmm... I am just saying, Tiffany Lakosky has nothing to worry about. dang, that didn't come out right either! I just dug a deep hole, but we are going to publish this anyway.Check-out Richelle's first two elk hunts (filmed in 2005 & 2008): We wanted to produce a documentary style hunting video that was more than just about killing. We hope some beginners can learn from this footage and you enjoy it. View the full article
4. A life long friend of mine finally took his first big game animal this week. Congratulations to Casey Witt! At age 33 a non-hunter became a legit hunter this week. Casey did not grow up as a hunter, although he was around many of us that did. Now he has a pile of elk meat and a story to tell! It is NEVER too late... View the full article
5. Here is some of the best elk footage I have seen in a while. This big bull has giant thirds and if he had any kind of a back-end he would be pushing 390+! Make sure you watch all 3 minutes of this video in HD! There are plenty of outfitters to choose from when you draw your coveted tag, so many it can be down right confusing! Please feel free to contact us if you are looking for a quality outfitter in Arizona, Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah or Wyoming. We can help point you in the right direction and give you a list of the Outdoorsmen Top Picks for each state and species.P-1.877.842.1258Email-info@outdoorsmansresourceguide.comIf you are planning a do-it-yourself hunt, we would suggest arriving 1 week prior to any western big game hunt, in order to get some quality scouting time in. Scouting is the biggest factor in consistently improving your success rates on trophy big game. View the full article
6. Hunters and Anglers don't be BULLIED! Tell them the TRUTH! Take your KIDS hunting & fishing! Check them out of school & make NO apologies! So, from what we have found the Wyoming Game & Fish Department is going to raise prices on tags & licenses in 2013. Every few years State Game & Fish Agencies are raising prices to equate for budget short-falls, which typically equates to LESS hunting & fishing licenses sold. What does this have to do with being bullied?Moving forward...100% of the Nation's population gets to enjoy all of the wildlife with very little sacrifice to THEIR bottom lines. We understand HOW much we (hunters & anglers) value wildlife and wild places, but does the rest of the NATION. The answer is NO!So, who's job is it to tell them? We believe it is our job, as a group, but it's also our State Game & Fish Agencies job. Our story must be told without apologies, regrets, or FEAR of what some may think or do. The next time your are at a social gathering or event, say this without ANY regret around non-hunters that may frown upon what you do:"The majority of wildlife management & conservation is paid for by HUNTERS & ANGLERS. We value wildlife more than most non-hunters."If they disagree, don't back down or be bullied. Ask them how much they spent on wildlife conservation? Ask them if they are a member of a Non-Profit Wildlife Conservation group? If so, which one? Honestly, the answer is more than likely going to be NO to all of these. We must tell our story to non-sportsmen, because like it or not, wildlife is owned by ALL off the citizens of this Nation, not just sportsmen. Be respectful, confident, and factual with your answers and questions. We can't hide from what we are and we can't pretend it is always going to be around. AZGFD Rule Changes

Good discussion. My first thought, heck yeah, ban baiting because I am tired of seeing everyone else with big coues deer & elk. My second thought, ban radio use because I am tired of seeing everyone else with BIG animals! My third thought, ban sitting waters; heck it is baiting to! I see way too many pictures of people killing big animals on water in the desert. Ban trail cameras while you are at it. For the record. I don't bait. I have very rarely used trail cameras, radios, or sit water. I use big binoculars. Spot-n-stalk & use calls. These are my CHOICES and I hold no one else accountable, but myself. I would agree with this rule change if there was 100% SCIENTIFIC data behind it. Honestly, I don't think this is about scientific data. Bowhunter4life pointed out some great facts with regards to trapping and anti-pressure. I also believe it is about economics. My final thoughts... Why do I even hunt? For myself. I hope you guys KILL some toads, just not the ones I am hunting. If you doU, I will tip my hat and say that is one heck of an animal. Jealousy and envy are going to continue to tear us a part if we do not channel it.
9. This was one of those mornings where the elk were in a rutting frenzy. We hope you enjoy, even though it is under a minute long and was filmed with out a tripod. View the full article

15. Ernie's first bull elk!If you follow us on Facebook you already know my young cousin, Ernie Scaff, took his first bull elk yesterday. If you don't follow us on Facebook, here it is. This was a tough hunt, with lots of busted up antlers, bright full moon, and hunting pressure do to the increase in permits issued by the Arizona Game & Fish Department. I would personally like to thank the Arizona Elk Society for getting the Arizona Game & Fish Department to cut back on the number of tags that were initially proposed for this hunt. I couldn't imagine anymore tags being issued for this quality hunt. Here is the video trailer! WATCH in HD! Full Episodes will be available to Outdoorsman's Resource Guide members. More details to follow. View the full article
16. I am posting these via my iPhone, so I apologies if they are not formatted or edited properly. Day 4-The action in the morning has picked up, but the afternoons are dead. All of the elk seem to be in the thick jungle which makes for tough glassing and stalking. We have completely ditched the areas we had scouted because of hunting pressure. Man, I sure feel sorry for the people that waited 15-20 years for an early rifle Arizona hunt. Lots of broken antlers and too many hunters. We are not making any excuses and Ernie is GOING to kill his first bull. At just 14 he would be happy with anything but we are being patient. We had a mature bull bedded at 25 yards this am but his head and vitals were buried in a cedar tree. Below are a few pics of some bulls we saw before the archery hunt. One was taken by an archer and the other is MIA. View the full article
17. We are 3 days into the early rifle bull elk hunt in Arizona. Thus far, it has been one of the worst early rifle hunts we have seen. Almost no rutting activity, and people everywhere. Anyways, I am about worn out after 30+ days of hunting and scouting. Honestly, I think the archery hunts are way more productive for top end bulls, if you work your butt off. View the full article
18. We know this has been shown quiet a bit over the past few weeks, but it's a pretty dang good discussion. Around the 1:20 min/sec mark is what strikes us as the most factual and thoughtful based words from Steven. With that said, we are not against someone being a Vegan, but to believe Vegan's care more about wildlife, do more for, or know more about wildlife than most hunters is insane. View the full article
19. We had the chance to visit with Jim White a few months back. Jim is the inventor of the UNI-DAPTOR. One of Jim's latest tripod adapting accessories is this video camera adapter. It's a pretty simple system that worked very well while I watched these elk jump a fence. If you are interested in one of these adapters you can contact Jim at 928.635.5316.One more thing... Jim is possibly the nicest person we have met in the outdoor industry. This was only the second time we had talked with him and the guy is nothing but excited about his products and life! 20. Live Photo of Nanook!Nanook was featured in the 2012 Arizona Hunting Edition of the Outdoorsman's Resource Guide. The ArizonaDesertSheepGuides.com crew put together a great write-up on field judging and scouting for Arizona Desert Bighorn Sheep.Gus Arvelo (Hunter) & Geoff Moss (Guide) looking happy!A few weeks ago Nanook was harvested with Littlehorn Outfitters, which is 1 half of the team that makes up the ArizonaDesertSheepGuides.com crew. The funding from this 1 tag will be used on much needed resources for Arizona's Bighorn Sheep. Follow this link to find out where and how the money is being spent in Arizona: HPC Project Proposals The Arizona Game & Fish Department checkout score was 187 0/8 gross and 186 4/8 net, but the official score should land closer to 185". What a great ram! Obviously, a ton of hard work and money went into this hunt. Something to ponder for all of us outdoorsmen with smaller budgets, if these dollars help put just two more mature rams on the mountain, we believe it is a great success story. Congrats to all involved! View the full article
21. We filmed this rutting bull elk last week. He came out early and has a cool split G2! He had about 7-10 cows and calves with him and sounded off a few times. Things are heating up throughout Arizona & New Mexico with all of the summer precipitation. View the full article
22. I just got back from spending 10 1/2 days on a OTC Archery Deer Hunt. The majority of the time I was by myself, but I did get to hook with some good friends (Forrest Breedlove, Mike Arajakis, & Mike Collins) for a few of the days. The one thing I truly love about hunting by myself is I get a chance to reflect on what really matters and what doesn't.Yesterday, I put this raw edited video trailer together and I wanted to share it with you. We want to be REAL when it comes to our videos, business, and life! If you are business owner, or just a person that follows our stuff, don't EVER hesitate to call us or email us. We are not bigger than life! We put our shoes on 1 at a time just like you! View the full article
23. This was posted automatically in our blog section area, but I thought it might get some more views here. I spent 10 1/5 days in the hills (mainly by myself) and hunting has always been a great place for me to regain focus on life. I love to hunt big animals like most people, but records are not what I am all about. Anyways, I put this together yesterday while my true thoughts were still fresh. It's raw, real, but not the most professional videoaugraphy or editing you will find. Hopefully you enjoy and can relate...

Vegan vs. Meateater

He did well by showing self control. Steve is definetly opening himself up to a whole NEW world that does not want to hear is, or our opinions.
