  3. We are looking for a quality AZ DIY Antelope Story to publish in the 2012 Arizona Hunting Edition of the Outdoorsman's Resource Guide. Obviously, a quality pronghorn would be awesome, but it's not required. We are looking for a good story that has taken place within the past 4 years! The wait, the effort, the money, the obstacles you over came, are all part of a good story. YOUR STORY! You can shoot me a private message or send me an email, if you are interested. Email: Email me

  6. We are going to be doing some advertising over the next few months & we want your opinions. The image to the left is the front of the mail insert. What do you think? Print mailers are expensive, but we believe are product will deliver average to above average return rates. It maybe a little over confident, but we believe in our product. Do you believe in our product? Below is the back of the mailer. This has a testimonial from an Arizona Resident Hunter that actually used last year's publication while on a hunt. Clint introduced himself to us while on a predator hunt & we wanted to make sure people heard his story. The back of the mailer with Clint's Testimonial & Big Buck! View the full article
  7. I don't like the bounty program at all. I personally don't mind paying more for funding a predator management program, but it needs to be based on science & fact, not just feelings. My grandfather was a federal predator control specialist for many years, it is more than just driving around & shooting a coyote. You are talking about isolating specific target animals, in specific areas, taking out the animals & then maintaining that area.
  8. I found it Amanda. "SB87 imposes a $5 fee on big-game hunting permits to go toward predator-control programs." Doesn't look like the Tags or the Expo are long term fund generators for this...
  9. If you look at the funding Utah is dumping into coyote control & the way elk herds are in the west, Anti's are LICKING their chops! Why? Because the wolf is what would directly impact the coyote & the elk herds. At least that's what my first thoughts are after looking at this data...Maybe I am going way out into left field on this one!
  10. Amanda, Can you provide us with a link to that thread? I would like to look it over. Here is a link with regards to how much money Utah has spent on Predator Control (mainly coyote control) over the past 6 years: Predator Management in Utah Does anyone have any actual data on where the money for Utah Predator Control is coming from? Is it coming from the Expo? Where are they targeting coyotes (units, public land, private land)? What is the fawn survival rate in these area, as compared to other areas?
  11. This video illustrates a very common dilemma when you are looking for a specific caliber of elk. Is he BIG enough? These guys actually had a long time to look over this bull at close range, before ultimately laying the hammer down. If you are looking for a specific type of elk on a limited draw tag make sure you do a lot of studying & preparing. You cannot beat real world experience & repetition when it comes to field judging elk, but you can elevate your knowledge base by absorbing suggests, ideas & concepts from local experts. 17. Allen, I am a member of several state based organizations & 1 national. My problem with the State based stuff is typically the meetings are in the valley area & I don't have the time or money to drive down that often. It takes every spare dime & nickel to start a business in this economy, plus I have two young kids that I take out into the woods, coach their teams & other activites. So, I guess you can say I have excuses... I do like that the State based money all stays in AZ, unlike the National Organizations. At this point, I am very leery as to what conservation groups I will renew with, it's just my honest feelings. If I don't have the time to sit thru meetings & voice my own opinion, I don't want to be misrepresented on a personal or professional level. The bottom line is, if I am a paying member I want to be an active member, so I can make sure my personal opinions were expressed. I do get the emails & newletters from some of the groups & some guys have even reached out to me at one point in time. Honestly, I do feel out of the loop on a lot of this stuff, which is good & bad, but I am not sure it is going to get any better until my kids are grown. My FIRST priorty is my family & then the outdoors. Thanks!

March HUGE TIMELY STORM
  20. We made a quick shed hunting trip this week to one of our favorite Northern Arizona units. We were able to get in about 2 hours of shedding before the sun went down. On the way back to the truck we found this old massive antler. It wasn't a great find, but it was an antler. Although, Arizona has received below average precipitation this winter, we did manage to find a fair amount of snow to play in. Pretty sure the kids enjoyed sliding around in snow more than looking for ghost antlers. We woke up the next morning & got packed up with great anticipation, as we had found an area with a lot of bull elk sign. Well, that was very short-lived as the Cam Shaft Positioning Sensor took a crap in our truck. It was not the best shed hunting trip, but we still had fun & made some memories... 2012 sheds

Nice! That's what it is all about!
  22. 2010 Steele Family Shed Hunting TripWhelp, it's that time of year & we have seen many pictures of hardcore shed hunters picking up bone. Every year we like to make at least 1 shed hunting trip as a family. Our biggest sheds! We have been very blessed to live in Arizona, where some of the largest free ranging elk roam. Second, we have have picked up some very big antlers, all while doing the majority of it as a family. Most of the time it is nice just to find an antler, let alone a GIANT! 63" Main Beam Bull There are a lot of guys that pick-up way more bone than us, but that's not why we personally choose to do it. We believe this is a great family outdoor activity & we love it! If we could recommend one outdoor hunting related activity for families, shed hunting would be it. So, quit making EXCUSES & get them dang kids off of the XBOX! Feel free to share your shed hunting pictures with us: info@outdoorsmansresourceguide.com or post them on our facebook page: Facebook-Outdoorsman's Resource Guide View the full article

  25. Arizona House Bill 2072 is a bill that was introduced in January 2012. We are posting this information because we believe many are still uninformed of the issues & the bill. Here is a link with more information regarding the bill: AZ HB2072 Here is a link to some insight of the initial bill & reaction from AZ Hunters: HB2072 Creates a Stir in Arizona Here is a link to House Representative Weiers Response to outcry from AZ Hunters: Rep. Weiers Responds to HB2072 Here is a link from the Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife (the organization behind the bill): Open Letter to Arizona Sportsmen Here is the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundations Position on the bill: RMEF HB2072 The Arizona Elk Society & the Yuma Valley Rod & Gun Club both oppose the bill, as well. Here is an update from Suzanne Gilstrap (Capital Consulting) & Robert Woodhouse (Arizona Game & Fish Commissioner): HB2072 Just Won't Go Away We hope after you read & become informed on the issues, you get involved, no matter what side of the fence you are on. No longer can you sit back & enjoy the heavy lifting of your fellow outdoorsman. In closing, we will remind those that are reading & following of the bigger picture... Wildlife is held in the public trust... Diverting public funds in this manner could be a social nightmare for the hunting community, no matter how valid the intentions are. View the full article
