Me and my buddy got Unit 34A third hunt again (2nd choice). Should be a lot of fun.

Looks like the link isn't working any longer. Also the Online Draw link on the AZG&F website is locked up "currently down for maintenance" Guess they are prepping the results to for full release.

az300wby, You got me so excited I checked the website and it's working just fine.... if you want to check your antelope/elk draws.

I prefer to sit on a ridgetop, glassing with a clear view and shot at the vehicle. Seriously though in my experience you are more likely to have items stolen out of the OHV than have the vehicle stolen.

Wow! He looks like he is trying to sprout more points at the tips still. Could be an incredible buck when he's done growing this summer.

Doesn't matter what unit you hunt. It's always a good idea to carry a lion tag wherever you hunt coues. Where there are coues and javelina, there are lions.

Based on my success or lack there of actually, Nobody taught me to hunt. Maybe I should hire an instructor. The truth is my dad started taking me hunting small game with him while I was still in diapers. Mom made him wait til I was out of diapers after he took me out and she found out he threw the dirty diapers away rather than clean them. (Way before disposable diapers). We hunted small game and fished every chance we had and we often were with my uncles and cousins. One day when I was about 9, we were driving through Salt River Canyon and as we drove around one of the many hairpin turns, I asked my Dad if he had seen the deer down in the bottom of the canyon. He wasn't sure he believed me but he stopped on the side of the road, we walked back and he still couldn't see them til I pointed them out. He said, "That's it, you and your eyes are going deer hunting with me from now on!" The rest as they say is history. Boy, I haven't thought about that for a long time. Thanks naturegirl for starting this thread. It sure brings back some great memories. I have to call the old man and see if he wants to go scouting for elk!

Bummer, I was just in Thatcher from the 6/30 to 7/4. I was with the family in Gila Outdoors on the third! Bad timing for me. Hope everyone has a great time. I will be at another family function up north on the 21st so I'll just be with you guys in spirit.

Just saw on G&F website that the online license and application system is down for upgrades today. Maybe the online draw will be available tomorrow.

I wonder if things are being held up while they try to resolve some of the credit card issues they had on the elk/antelope draw. Those folks who were denied in error because of cc issues still don't have a resolution. If this is the case, I would rather have them work the bugs out before they open the online draw again and screw somebody over. Just my .02. Lee

BML, Thanks for the info. That's about what I figured. Sounds like some potential problems for my upcoming early archery bull hunt. I don't disagree with closing many of the roads either but I think they went too far with the closures and then to make no effort to post closed roads and have no manpower to enforce the closures stinks to high heaven. I fully expect I may be the only one following the TMR in the area I plan to hunt which is just going to make my hunt more challenging. I don't go camping on Memorial Day weekend but I am tempted to drive up for a day and check out the circus. Thanks again BML. Lee
