Now that we have to choose the species what will you do? I don't think they should make it like that since only 3 or four units have Coues in them let me know what you think.

Hey whats the NM thing supposed to mean!? JK My dad shot a coues buck at 500 yards in the neck in AZ. But Mybuck in NM was a 300 yarder so i dont think it matters cuz i have a 300 win. mag and i had lots of meat for steak and jerky!

I saw one like that on top of a huge mountain in the snow on my last deer hunt in NM, but I couldn't get to him on accout of I had to be home! I hope your work thing "works" out! GoodLUCK!

Definitely scent! Scent is way different than noise because animals can distinguish smell. Why isn't sight up there? Because if they see you they'll circle you until they wind you, and from that point on they'll know you, just my opinion.

Hey have any of you ever seen a good spot to hunt elk in 24? I mean a spot where there will be elk no matter what? I needsome help finding some for my rifle hunt! please help if you can!

I would hold out for a 90 inch buck in couesdeer and a 160-170 for muledeer.

I'm so mad! I think a buck has been shot out of my front yard! He was in a bachelor group on this hill in my yard and now he's gone and I live right in Silver City! There was a bunch of crows over there too so I'm pretty sure he was killed! It just shows how desperate some people are to be shooting tame "city" muledeer!

I would advise you to go along the AZ border. I think that's mule creek. I don't know if that's in 23 or not but if it is go there! Sorry I don't have more info but I don't know much about 23, just the part going into Lordsburg. I hit a deer there with my car so there should be deer there LOL!

I definitely like the 300 because of the range that sucker has! The last day of my dad's hunthe shot one at 650 yards! I don't know about you guys, but if you can shoot that far and still be accurate, i don't know why you'd want another gun! ( I'm a lil' biased too HJAHAHAHAHAHA)

27 is an awesome unit! The only thing is the wind blows most of the time, but other than that is really is a quality trophy hunt! My cousin Eric Kern guides some places there when he isn't in Alaska guiding and you should see the footage he has of some muledeer and couesdeer! There are some monsters!!!

Mule deer are like that too aren't they? The only thing different is that maybe the forkies and spikes stay with their mothers.

I live in sw nm in the burro mountain area and i just wanted to tell all the hunters what a great rainfall year we've had! How was it down in animas in unit 27? I wish i got drawn for that hunt!

Thanks for all your suggestions. I think GMM is right for sure I will just try a bunch of bows and see which one I like, the only problem is I live in a tiny town so I have to drive 2-5 hours to get to a good dealer! Which dealer did you guys get yours from in tuscon or phoenix?

Thats cool! I live next to the burros and I can tell you I've seen 30 inch mulies in there but I also have a friend that killed a 102 inch coues.It's a pretty thick place but you just need to get up high.

Well I don't know about this, Who thinks it's a fun way to hunt? Honestly? The funnest part is just being on top of a mountain relaxing eating a burrito and glassing!
