I think they died of thirst. They were in a small wash about 20 yards from water and it looked like the one was dragging the other towards water until it got to a small encline and couldn't go any farther. And yes nothing had started eating them yet. As for them being locked I was really hopeing they were torqued together, but once I cut the heads off the antlers came apart fairly easily. If you look at the main beams you can see how close they come together. That was the real reason for them getting locked up. The main beam was godging into the kneck of the other deer.

I found these last rut. Has any one ever found a couple of locked horns before? Here is a few pics of the locked deer and then a couple of Bobcats after I put my camera on the carcass. And this one of the Bozo is some dork that just had to mess with my camera lense before he left so for the next month I didn't get any pics. By the way the camera was in a different location when Bozo found it. He's definitely not a hunter. Does anyone know what that gizmo on his belt is? This might shed some light on what he was doing in the middle of nowhere. I'm having a hech of a time posting these. I hope this worked
