    Sarah Palin

The hypocracy on the left and from the liberal spinsters is thick and rich, we might need our hunting knives to cut through all the hypocracy. They are lambasting her for being an independent woman, having a life, a successful career, a family, a young baby etc. etc., all the while managing an incredibly successful career in government service. These are all the same things they preach - women's rights, equal pay for equal work, women's lib where a woman no longer needs to be at home, barefoot and pregnant with a casserole in the oven when the husband gets home from bringing home the bacon. Successful independent women with careers doing it their own way, making their own decisions -- isn't that what they embody and are all about? I guess not if you are a conservative and if you get into politics to make a real difference in peoples lives, unlike alot of politicians who in appearance seem to get into politics to get ahead and gain power.

    Sarah Palin

The foreign experience factor is an argument the libs will manipulate till the cows come home. It's a thin argument IMO. Palin has risen through the ranks in AK from a grass roots level starting with the lowly PTA to mayor to the Gov. of AK and commander in chief of its National Guard & Coast Guard, she has balanced AK's budget, met its patroll and managed her state with an over 80% -90% approval rating depending on who you talk to. She's made tough decisions on behalf of her state as it leader on a daily basis. On the other hand we have O'Bama who has sat in congress for 140 some odd days & he's been campaigning for most of his term. Prior to that he was a community organizer (whatever that is?) and an Illinois legislator where most of the time he voted present. (That means he can't make a decision or won't for fear it will hurt him politically) That's some great experience. Then we have Biden whos' sat in Congress for 36 years ( So much for that CHANGE mantra) and with his experience has been on the wrong side of nealy all foreign affairs issues to come down the line. Not the foreign experience I look for. He's sat on congressional committees, voted against Roberts and Alito, consistently promotes and votes to severely limit our second amendment rights and a whole slew of others. I think the biggest decision he makes every day is whether to order an olive or an onion in his fifth martini at the Washington Crony Club. I guess you know who I'm voting for.

    Sarah Palin

A friend of our family's daughter didn't even know she was pregnant till her water broke and she delivered a baby boy a short time later! She was a little on the heavy side but not a whole lot, she didn't have a clue. There is alot of stuff out there on both political sides including a gentleman that claims O'Bummer wasn't even born in Hawaii, that his birth certificate is a forgery and that he may have actually been born in Kenya and therefore inelligible to run for the highest office. Interesting. http://www.clevelandleader.com/node/6524

    Sarah Palin

I think his pick of Palin is Brilliant and I'd have to disagree with Bowsniper although I won't say "clueless". I like Rice, but seriously for someone wanting to separate himself from Bush a pick of Rice would have shot himself in the foot and the Libs would be relentless on that point and they would be right. I can just picture the libs asking themselves - Why in the wide wide world of sports when you (Palin) found out you were going to have a down's syndrome child, why did you not kill it and abort it? Classic. O'Bummer has alot of problems coming his way with his "association" with William Ayers the pentagon bomber, If what I'm hearing is true their relationship it's waayy more than just an aquaintance and will prove the guy is nothing more than a crooked politician and crooked community organizer and at the very least a huge liar.

    Steiner 20X80???????? Need Help!!

I once had a hunter that gave me a tip that was a pair of Steiner 20x80's. Although it was a really nice gesture from him, I sold them almost immediately upon return from the hunt. The pair he gave me was brand new, so I doubt if it was an alignment or some other problem with that particular pair, but they gave me almost an instant massive headache, like you get when you drink a can of Big Red. I know there are a few on here that may like Steiners but I'm not one of em, I'd save your money like Casey and GH suggest. Good luck

    Bill oh Bill

Whatever this current breed of Dumbocraps is selling I ain't buying. These loosers are such a bunch of lyin arrogant a-holes I can't even believe how left they are and how left that party has become, John Kennedy is probably turning in his grave. They have completely turned his famous speech and ideals into the exact opposite of what he preached and asked of his country and now it's --- Ask not what you can do for your country but ask what can my country do for me and give me for free. Let's see - we have The #1 most liberal in congress as the lefts nominee and the 3rd most liberal congressman as his running mate. If America elects these Marxist liars, this country is in big trouble. They already have a majority in the Supreme court, a majority in congress - and if they win the big prize of the presidency folks they will have hit the ultimate jackpot and we will see our rights go right down the crapper. Don't be stupid America.

    Vice President Choices

DB, I agree with everything you just said, but the fact remains one of those two will be Pres. and will be appointing nominees to the highest court and many other high courts. Are we going to have a courts that looks like the ninth circus out of San Francisco or are we going to have more appointments like Roberts, Alito, Thomas & Scalia or are we going to have more Ginsburgh type pieces of crap. There is only one choice IMO, as hard as it is to make.

    Vice President Choices

Tam is exactly right, there are only two candidates in this race. Any choice besides McLame is a vote for Obummer, be it a write in or someone else on the ballot that no one has ever heard of. The fact is that there will more than likely be at least two and possibly four supreme court nominees in the next Presidential term. You either want O'bummer making those appointments or McLame. As much as I dislike McCain, the prospect of Obummer making those appointments should turn everyones stomach and if it comes to fruition and he wins we will see just how far left this country goes. As left as the country and the court currently is, it will take another decidedly left turn that we may never be able to recover from. I'll be holding my nose when I vote.

    North of the River Muley's

Thanks Jim for forcing me to date myself and reflect back on just how long I've been guiding north of the river, now I really feel old. The Big non-typ. was killed in 1989 on the Kaibab, I had been guiding there since 1983. The permit was an auction tag sold by ADBSS and I believe it was the second year it was offered, the first year it was raffled off and tickets were $5. In those early auction tag days the hunt was only 5 or 6 weeks long and started after all the regular Kaibab hunts were over in late Nov. and ended Dec. 31. My hunter bought it for I believe $12,200, a price I'd gladly pay today. Anyways the actual hunt was pretty quick as we killed it on the third day of the hunt or the third day the hunter was there. The first day hunting we found and passed a ginormous typical that still scares me in my dreams and left me thinking wow! this is not going to be easy to find a shooter for this guy, as it was a buck I'd gladly shoot on opening day of any hunt, even if the hunt was 365 days long like it is now. We found the buck he killed right before dark on the second day and didn't really get a good look at it as it was a pretty quick look and it was late, but we knew it was like nothing we had ever seen. Needless to say my good buddy Jeff who came down from Utah to help, me and the hunter didn't sleep at all that night. We were back after him first thing in the morning and we worked our way around to where we wouldn't be looking into the rising sun and far enough away from where we last left him so as not to spook him if he was still in the area. We set up glassing and right away I picked up deer and antlers dancing on the horizon in the incredible heat waves, I could'nt tell anything about the buck as the heat waves were so bad but I knew it had to be him. The deer disappeared down in a draw and out of sight and we made our move to try to get in position. We got to where we wanted to be and like clockwork deer started filtering out of the draw headed back to some really thick stuff. first does then the buck came out - then our jaws dropped. I thought we were in range (maybe 375 yds.) and wanted to end it right there as the deer were slowly walking broadside non-chalantly back towards the juniper jungle, but my hunter had other ideas, like, he wanted to get a closer shot. We decided to move and the deer saw us and they all began to beeline for the thick trees. We quickly got setup again and he shot at the running buck just as he was about to dive behind a big juniper and then the thick jungle never to be seen again. The shot was true and a good one and it put him down for good. I still can't believe he made that shot and I'm getting chills typing this stuff 19 years later remembering that moment and how it felt to find and be part of such a special hunt and such a special once in a lifetime buck. The buck was a 13X14 and grossed in the low 270's and netted 264 and change. He had I believe a 185-188 frame with 90+ " of abnormals. That same hunter bought the tag 3 more times and hunted with me each time. One year he didn't kill, the other two years he took a typical in the 190's and another monster non-typ in 1992 that ended up 238.4. The year he did'nt buy the tag in 1990, a guy from Calif. bought it and I hired my good buddy Gary Goose H. to help me with him for a while, the guy from Calif. shot pretty early on a nice buck in the 190's. Hope I didn't bore you all to tears, and good luck Jim with your Kaibab tag you'll have a blast.

I also received the e-mail pic, amazing how fast this stuff gets out there. Helluvabull, great job guys. Also congrats Jim on the K-Bab tag.
  19. Marlon, after all those conversions I need to take a couple of Advil. Whatever comes out of Al Bore's mouth is such a huge load of dog poo crap. We have ten years and then we're doomed? - What happened to their theory about Global Warming/Climate Change taking a vacation for ten years or till 2015 or whenever the he!! they said it would be back. These snake oil charletans need to go away, he's probably not making enough money on his carbon credits -- er! I mean carbon scam, so he's arbitrarily created this new deadline giving us all ten years before we all just spontaneously combust. Maybe he can employ David Copperfield and together they can power the planet and it's economy on smoke and mirrors, ooops can't do that, smoke has carbon in it. Ok just mirrors.
  20. I find it very curious that there is no mention (at least that I can find on the AZGFD website) for a call to the public for comments on the enviros plans to introduce more wolves into AZ? Are they trying to backdoor - under the table - this ? This is obviously a real threat that they are seriously considering, and in my opinion probably THE biggest threat to our way of life and our passion that we so dearly love. I would personally like to see Amanda pin this thread and I'd like to see every single member of this site respond to this at : mexwolf@azgfd.gov I have to think that Desert Bull is right as he assumed on another thread that all of these upcoming road closures coming to Kaibab and Coconino forests etc. that are being proposed are no coincidence at all. If you want wolves running amok in Kaibab and south all the way to Flagstaff and down the rim joining up with the Blue Range wolf country, I think you are perfectly INSANE but free to voice your opinion. I personally think their ultimate goal is to do away with all hunting, and locking up our public land and inserting wolves is a huge step in that direction. Come on guys and gals don't delay, this is the real deal, one that we may not get another chance to have our say. One thing is for sure, if you don't respond thinking other people will do it, you are fooling yourself, make no mistake, you will be letting the tree huggers, wolf lovers do it for you

    skiing in june

I think they'll be skiing in Montana too, I just heard parts of Montana could get up to 10" today with temps in the 20's. But as we all know even if it's really cooling, it's all due to global warming.
  24. Conducting surveys is going to be pretty trivial and will be a moot point when the Governor and the Legislature sweeps G & F funds to pay for the 2 billion dollar deficit this Governor and the legislature created. The question is going to be what G & F employees the we personally know and respect will still have jobs?
  25. At the commission meeting last summer after two or three years of mandatory reporting, if I remember right, they said they were getting 40-45% compliance. On this thread alone we have at least six people that have said they didn't or wont turn them in after killing a deer, I know of many more doing the same after killing an archery buck. They are not getting accurate information and they are making decisions on lousy and incomplete information. Until they institute mandatory reporting with either a positive incentive or a penalty for non compliance - and enforce it, they will continue to get extremely skewed data, and they will be making bad decisions based on it. If they are gonna have it - do it right - otherwise why even bother to half butt it.
