I agree 100%. I have on order a custom string/cable set. I'm currently waitng for a specific part from the manufacture before I get the new set put on. However, On my current set. The bottom serving had completly separated to a point the strands were exposed. After a complete inspection. The staff at Bull Basin assured me that they could re-serve this area and it would hold up without question until I got the specific part from the manufacture. Quality work that I can depend on. Thanks Bull Basin of Tucson!! P.S. After getting 100 shots on the reserving it looks and is holding up like new.My mind is at ease. Thanks again Troy for your awesome craftsmanship..

I know of several people that didn't attend the first shoot that will be there. Hope there will be plenty of Elk/beef burgers.

Yes, Byron did my string, and I can't say enough about how impressed I am. My bow required absolutely no tuning or pin adjustment after it was installed. I spent quite a while convincing myself to go with a custom string maker, and now I will never look back. Awesome thanks! I was able to step in for a few minutes today. All I can say is "WOW". I was very impressed with the layout and the very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I think I even saw a PSE guy wearing a Hoyt shirt today . After my experience I can see why there has been so many positive things stated about Bull Basin in Tucson. Now I just need to decide on a color combination for my new set.

You can definitely select strings colors if you use Bull Basin's local string maker, Byron. He has most of the colors available offered by BCY in 452x and his strings have a one year warranty. If you have any issues with peep rotation or stretch Bull Basin and Byron will take care of you. I've got his strings on all my bows...I'm sure they can get you Winner's Choice too. I've heard good things about his(Byron)strings. Hard to get a quality string these days. I'll definitely stop by tomorrow for their "Hoyt day" to check things out. thanks!!

I'm about ready for a new set of string and cables. Sounds like this is the place to go with all the positive feedback. Were you able to pick your color options for your new set?

Siwash, Thanks for capturing the beauty of this unique landscape in your pictures. I think "Cochise" is smiling in the background in one photo. Sounds like it was a great event. I can see why it's called "The Rumble in the Rocks" ..

Just wanted to get some clarification if course 1(or any other course) was the same set-up as the Warm-up?? I heard from several individuals that the warm-up set-up did not CHANGE. I sure hope that this wasn't the case..Cuz, I would be very pissed..Especially, if I was a money shooter with something on the line. Savvy

Thank you for the detailed explanation.

WOW!! The "RUMBLE IN THE ROCKS" should be interesting..I hope everyone attends.. By the way I did think the course was set-up better then last year. With some great challenging shots..I also understand that it can be a big challenge in setting up a great course.I also commend Usery Mountain Archers for putting on a great and fun event.. However,,If I was a more serious participant. I would expect that this event(or any others)maintain it's integrity..It's all about generating more participation and having fun. I'm pretty sure you answered my question..And since I'm pretty new to this.I really don't see any advantage if the yardages were known..Or if someone had already practiced the course..Because in reality You still have to make the shot when it counts. So they tell me.. I think I will stick to the fun course for awhile and save some money thanks. I will leave this posting up for awhile so you can read it then I will delete it.. Skip

SO, I'm helping my cousin out on his deer hunt in a southern unit when these guy's busted out a fine buck that we had been stalking. So, what do ya do? do you take a shot at the buck and risk..Well, maybe a confrontation.( In the pic everyone knows who is there ) What to do? So, my question is? Take the shot and draw attention and what not..Or let your dream buck get away till these guy's are gone and have zero chance on the buck?.... I'm glad things are improving on the border.

Thanks for the understanding. I believe as unfortunate as it was. That we made the right decision in handling this situation. I'm appreciative for the feedback given..I think the feedback given will benefit others if faced with a similar dilemma.. Believe me, I wanted to pretend these guys were not there and have him take the shot...So I took their picture instead..Been thinking about deleting them.

Daryl S, Yeah Peck isn't a picnic either... Some good deer there still.... Just to let you know..I wouldn't let my cousin take the shot..Deer still lives. Yes, It is Piss Poor that we had to deal with this...

You're right, it's easier to type out a response than to actually do it. Did they know you were there??? That would factor into the decision, too. Besides, if they think they are being shot at they are going to hightail it out of there or hunker down. I have a hard time believing that a person that believes he/she is being shot at isn't going to run, especially when they may not even be sure where it came from. If they don't know where it came from you shoot the deer and stay out of sight. I know, I know, easy to type it out because I wasn't there. But if I felt the situation was right, I'm shooting. I have come face to face with illegals. I've seen 50 guys walking single file through the desert and I've found 1 dead body. I've watched the BP helicopter and many trucks and agents do a big drug bust that we ended up right in the middle of way back in Peck Canyon. So it's not like I'm just spouting out a response, either. As uncomfortable as you feel seeing them below you, they would feel it a thousand fold when that bullet rips through the air above their heads. Don't get me wrong and my apologies if I didn't convey my answer appropriately. Please don't take any personal offense. By the picture posted in post #1. Yes, He clearly knows our location....#2 these are not your everyday migrates period...

Firstcoueswas80, Thanks, 911 also connected us with no problem.....

308Nut, Your comment should not lose any respect from this site...It is pretty factual of what can occur.. Whether you have time to make that decision under the circumstances. Is a whole nother matter.. Believe me, Knowing that a person is doing a task to better themselves. Is one thing...knowing a person is willing to take what ever means necessary to better themselves is another thing.. Like i say, What do Ya do??? In a positive note. I'm able to relay this experience with ya all. This is such an informative site. And we can all learn from others experiences in the field.. Elkaholic, I have and used those numbers. Coach, I don't know what to say.. The leader that I didn't get a picture of was also packing..
-
Just to give you a little perspective from our view.. Buck was above these guys.. So what would ya do?
-
So, They are going to understand you're not shooting at them and instead at a deer? They were directly under the fire of our direction.. I wish I could have been as composed as you type.. And I wished It was that easy in making the decision we did...

Yep, looks like a weapon on the last guy....
