HUNTnTAT2- That mule deer is neat. What is your media used in that picture? Is that airbrush? Good job!! Jonnie blaze- that picture is very nice. Be sure to post a pic of the finished product. Nice work!

I have noticed the same thing. There isn't much coues deer artwork available and I have been working on a few Coues deer drawings in charcoal. Pm me if you would like to take a look . I would be willing to get some high quality prints made if there were enough people interested in some Coues deer drawings. If you have a cool drawing or a good Coues deer pic for reference I would also be willing to do a custom drawing.

Calling all GURU"S , seeking advice
SHOOTER replied to seek100plus's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
I like to start the sound out pretty quiet for about the first minute then gradually make the sound louder. I will pause the caller about every 2-3 mins for about 30 seconds. Don't be afraid to change sounds every 7-8 mins. I have called in bobcat fox and coyotes after I have changed the sound. This time of the year calling is tough and I will sit a little longer for coyotes than at the beggining of the season (around October). for about 20 mins. Hope this helps....Goodluck! -
I was wondering what pack you shed hunters like to use for packin out horns. I was looking at a Badlands 2200. So which pack do you prefer for packin out a few deer and elk horns? Thanks

Thank you guys for all the good advice.

Nice Sheds looks like a really good day. I don't know why but I really like sheds and I really like the challenge of findin horns(it seems a lot easier for some than others as you can see from the pics above.haha). They are all different and they are all neat. I also like just being out in the hills, you get to see all sorts of cool stuff. I keep all of my horns ,I just like watching the pile grow. I agree with AZantlerenthusiatst I think its a better and more productive pasttime than watchin the T.V.

Adam- Right now is a tough time to be calling. The coyotes are breeding, and its warming up the coyotes are educated. It is difficult time to call. The best advice I can give you is wait until October and start calling again. There will be a bunch of young dumb pups (no longer pups by October) out that are easy to call. Watch the wind and look for sign (scat, tracks etc.). Where there is lots of sign there are coyotes to be called. I usually call from October to March and my success rate goes down throughout the season because less coyotes and they have been shot at more. If you wait until Mid- October your calling should be much more productive than now. Good Luck! But if you really want to call a coyote in this time of the year I would try pup in distress sounds.

Thats a great shed! To bad you couldn't of found it when it was brown.. but at least it didn't go unfound to rot away.

This is my first year doing this shed hunting thing ,everything I have found before has been on "accident". A buddy and I went out for the second time this year and we found a good area today. We found 6 and I bet and hope there are more. We found a good sized 6 point with one little extra point a it was probably 5-6 years old, a broken piece off off a huge bull, old 4 point muley shed, a 1 year old really heavy 6 point , 1 year old 5 point and a old spike. The coolest part is that there were 4-wheeler tracks all over and this place is about 150yards up the hill on a bench from the main trail and the 4-wheelers can't get to where we were. They are within 150 yards of a good horn spot/bench and to lazy to walk and realize it. Here are a couple ATL's Don't make fun of the back pack it's original intention was to carry water and a jacket ,we weren't really expecting to use it to haul that many sheds.
