one of the things that excites me about possibly having this unit 1 tag is being in that part of the state during September for 2 weeks straight. I have fallen in love with the white mountains of arizona and the thought of chasing bugles for 2 weeks there has me excited like I can't explain. There was a thread on here from a few years ago by member "Coach" about his hunt in unit 1. I always pictured my first archery tag to go the way his did. ill try and find the link to his story so that the guy who started this post could also read and enjoy it the way I did. There is the likely possibility that I drew my second choice and don't even have this tag but until draw results come out I'm hanging on to the hope that I drew my first choice. unit 1 early archery bull 1st, unit 21 late rifle bull 2nd. got a hit on my card. I'm gonna freak out if I drew unit 1 archery bull with only 5 points.

The 58 ED's are freaking sweet! In my opinion better than the current 15x56 model that minox has. But they are still good for the price.

My card was also hit and this is my first choice as well. Anxiously waiting to see the results. I think the area you have selected will be just as good as any other in that unit. I think you could close your eyes and point to a spot on a map of unit 1 and it would most likely be a good spot.

Yep that's what mine looks like too. Only bonus point data. Also on the "my az outdoors" link it has no licenses under the "my licenses" and no applications/tags under "my applications/tags". I bought my license online and I was hit for an elk tag. Weird.

I agree. I'd like to see a poll of people who "actually knew" when their card was hit vs what choice they drew, (bonus pass or random etc) vs when their charge hit. I hear so many "I was charged a week laters" that I know weren't actually a week later just pending charges being brought to final charges after a few days or a week. I have my card on a text notification and it is truly instant every time I charge something to it so I know down to the second of when it went through. Last year it hit a few hours after the people starting getting charges but it was probably 3-4pm when it hit. I drew a second choice random draw tag as a NR.I'm one of those crazy guys that was checking about every 10 minutes on Friday morning in anticipation for the cards to get charged. I noticed it at about 845 Friday morning and I have 1st choice unit 1 early archery bull and 2nd choice unit 21 late rifle bull. I have 5 points and I'm nowhere near the bonus pass for either of these hunts. To say I'm excited to draw is an understatement.

Check out the 6.5-284 Norma. Hardly any recoil and shoots the 140 bergers with some serious accuracy and knock down power. Fun caliber.

Does anyone have any idea when the road to this little lake opens? I am thinking about taking the kids up there for some trout fishing. The azgfd.com fishing report is extremely outdated so its not a very good resource for this particular lake. Thanks!

Cabelas exclusive savage model 116 in 6.5-284 Norma with the 24" stainless fluted barrel topped with a vortex viper 6.5-20x44. I'm shooting 140 Berger vld's with Norma brass and 58 grains of retumbo. i just got this rifle so I havnt had a chance to kill anything with it yet but she is shooting real nice!

1. Coues deer 2. Antelope 3. Elk 4. Mule deer
