AZ's own Endangered Species Act
DesertBull replied to DesertBull's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Read the bill. It states that all non stamped ammo will have to be discarded by a certain date. No hording ammo. The Endangered Species bill will also tie the G&F Dept to new rules on establishing hunts. Example, if the pronghorns or sheep are not expanding or they are losing too much habitat, the G&F might be forced to end the hunts to comply with the new law. -

Granny's is 10x better than the Olive Garden. That's like eating pasta at McDonald's. McMeatballs. -
Make sure you use protection.

suns bushing for a championchip
DesertBull replied to thunderbolt's topic in Non-hunting trip reports
They owe him $50M. That's a lot of Jerseys. The only thing I do not like is I think they could have got a lot more for Marion than a 36 year old 335 lbs man with the $50M contract. -

I think Marion was at least as good if not even better at rebounding that Shaq. Plus, Marion can play the whole game, where as Shaq is pretty much a 20 min/game player now. But, you are right in the fact that it doesn;t take 5 gus to run a fast breeak. Shaq will not slow down the team. Jabar was 40 when he played with the great Lakers teams in the in 80's and they ran with the best of them. It will interesting to see. -

Marion asked to be traded because he was jealous of Nash and Amare. Plus, he always disappeared in the playoffs. -
That SUCKS. I thought you loved it up there. Is it just a financial thing or is the winter taking it's toll? BTW, Tuscon still sucks too. It has not changed since you left.

Stolen Browning A-45
DesertBull replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I had a SXS .410 shotgun stolen out of my truck a few years ago. The Cops found it at a pawn shop in Mesa. I had to buy it back from the shop even though the guy accpeted stolen goods. What a croc. 5 years later, I get a check in the mail from Florence Prison for the restituion. I guess the guy had to work it off baling hay at $0.25 per hour. I hope he was allergic to alfalfa. -
Are you asking $1250 for it or are you offering $1250 for someone to come get that thing out of your house?

Congrats. You do know that the Game and Fish just outlawed any glass over 10X right? Oh, and 10x glass must be Tasco or equivalant. More opportunity. Just checking.

Well, another season is behind us. Now what? I usually spend these next few weeks getting re-acquainted with my family. When the weather starts getting warmer, in March and April, I usually maintain my mineral licks and maybe start a new one or two if I find a promising location. Do you think the G&F is going to make salt illegal this year or is it still 2-3 years away? I don't want to spend a bunch of time doing that only to find out later it will be useless. I would hope they wait and see how their new bow hunt strategy works before making any more changes.

Whoa! That's a big'un. Kodiak?

It took me 90 minutes to drive from Queen Creek to Tempe this morning. I'll take a little cold and snow over bumper to bumper any day.

Do you think we will know the AZ elk and Antelope draw results before the NM deadline to apply (April 9th)? It would be nice to know if I got lucky in AZ before applying for a $700+ tag I might not get full use of if I draw both states.

Awesome! I would have dumped the hide and guts on the Swarm's doorstep.
-
Hopefully, it will still be legal to do so.

I'll do you guys a favor and drop out of the Antelope tag lottery this year. 2 gun tags in 6 years is enough.... FOR NOW! BWAAHAHAHAAA!

Larry Voyles named new director of Arizona Game and Fish Department
DesertBull replied to cmc's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Isn't it the Commission that really wields the power? They're the ones pushing opportunity, the G&F Dept are just their soldiers. -

Operation Bear Bones
DesertBull replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Now there's a good attitude. Is it the game and fish's fault for the small fines? Are they the ones that set these rates? Do you think that they feel this is what the bad guys deserve? No is the answer to all those questions. It is our marvelous court system that sets these fines, you know those judges that we all vote in. The Game and Fish has no say in what a guy gets charged. Additionally this is on the criminal side of things. These people are still going to face civil assessments in front of the commission. This has the probability to bring alot heftier fines along with revocation of hunting and fishing privilidges. Anyway, it is pretty disappointing to hear all these responses from sportsmen. When fingers should be pointed at those who committed the crimes all you can do is again blame the game and fish for doing a poor job when they did their job and our court system is the one that let them off. VERY DISAPPOINTING Packer I agree, it's the courts, but if you read the document you will see that the Commission has already acted on several of the cases. Biggest fine was $1500.
