When they say it is a "barrier" to hunting, that is G&F speak for "it will cost us a few dollars, so screw that." -
Unhappy with my new coues mount

As I said in the other thread, I think there is something going on with the position of the eyes. The ears, nose, antlers, and hide all look fantastic to me however. -

NM makes all deer hunters report their harvest or they cannot apply the following year, why can't AZ do this? I would rather have to draw an archery tag then have them take away the December / January hunts. I think it stinks, but honestly, most other western states (many of which have deer numbers far greater than AZ) have already gone to draw tags for archery. Depending on how many archery tags they issue, I can imagine that there would be quite a few leftover tags that could be had after the draw that would not require burning bonus points. So, if they do go to a draw, would you also have to choose which season you hunt or would the tag be good for all archery seasons? There are a few southern AZ units that have no early archery hunts right now. If they went to a draw and added these units to the early hunts, I would apply for them. -
I have several pics from late May with antlers poking through of desert muleys.

Got my September 2006 buck back
DesertBull replied to bowsniper's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I think the hard horned buck is just physically much bigger and more mature than the velvet one. Notice how much bigger it's ears, chest and neck are. The only thing that might be questioned is that the velvet bucks eyes are more forward facing (like a predator's eyes) and the hard horned buck's eyes are more side facing. Either way, they are both fantastic, IMO. -
W's immigration policy
DesertBull replied to fatfootdoc's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
For what it is worth, this bill is not solely "W"'s bill. Our own illustrious Senator, John McLame is the driving force. He even teamed up with old buddy Terrible Teddy to bring in on board. It will be the swift end to his Presidential hopes. W does support it however and therefore needs to be impeached. He is charged with duty of protecting the Constitution of the USA and the country from intruders. Closing the border is the first thing that needs to be done, then we can decide on what to do with the criminals that are already here. Yes, they are criminals, they have broken the law. It would not be that hard to cut the illegal traffic by 95% or more. Use the military, the NG, the border patrol, local law enforcement, fences, radar, satellites, etc. We, as citizens of the State of AZ, passed a proposition to stop state aid to illegals and to force state workers to turn in illegals when they try to apply for it. Our great Governor has refused to enforce it against the will of the people. Hispanics voted for the bill by a vast majority also, so don't bring out the lame "race" excuse. The ones coming over illegally make it so much harder for the ones wanting to do it the right way. Rewarding criminal behavior is wrong. -
Didnt NAU basketball whoop up on the scumdevils last year? yeah, pretty sure they did! huh, not bad for a div. 1-AA team! ASU sucks. U of A Sucks. If it's not Big Ten, it sucks. Remember this?

The Feds want all the Buff's to be gone, but they won't let you in the park to shoot them. So, they want to make sure everyone who gets a tag gets a buff. I have no problems giving the youth as many tags as they can handle. That is what hunter retention and recruitment should be about, not issueing November Elk camping permits.

Don't know anything about them except that pitcher is a hot. Not Jenny Finch hot, but hot nonetheless.

Sounds a combo of huggers and bean counters have taken over the Dept. Sad to say, but it sounds like a total boycott of the G&F dept for at least one season is the only thing that will get their attention. -

Some more mule deer bucks. The cams I have on the Coues trails and salt licks are not getting any action yet.

Mine is a Moultrie also. 3.1 MP I believe. You can get them for $70-80 on Ebay. -
I'm not familiar w/ the west part of the unit, but have found the opposite of this to be true. It took me seven or eight trips to find my first herd of pigs this year, but I saw deer every day. Of course, this was also the first year I hunted that unit. I usually have to kick pigs and bobcats out of my way as I'm stalking bucks down there.
