Oh crap, the neighborhood just went downhill.

I saw 2 bobcats hunting side by side in 37B a couple weeks ago while scouting. Pretty cool to watch them. They look like they could tear you a new one if ya gott'em cornered.

A couple of questions, and please do not take this as the wrong way. I am just asking out of ignorance. 1. We all know the strip is a great place to hunt big deer, but why concentrate your resources there, where 99% of the people will never get a chance to hunt? 2. Isn't there lion problems in other parts of the state, like Tonto Basin, The Catalinas, Blue River etc? 3. Seems you could turn the problem of getting people to hunt cats into a good way to raise funds. Instead of , or better yet, in addition to, paying Mr. Bedlion to hunt. Pay the hound guys up front, then raffle off some lion hunts. A lot of us would love to kill a lion, but don't really have the $2500 to hire a guide and the ADA doesn't get stuck with the whole bill for Predator Control. Even if you don't turn a profit, your still getting a break on overall cost that you are footing the bill for now.

Is there anyone in AZ that buys pelts or do you have to ship them somewhere?

If anyone wants to get together to shoot some vermin, I'm willing. Never been varmit calling, but wanting to learn. Jeff

I have ordered a lot of ammo from Cabelas without paying a HazMat fee. I think that only applies to loose powder.

I have a Mule Deer hide that is in the freezer. I live in Gilbert. Just let me know when you want to come get it. I don't get home from work till after 6:00 most days. Jef

I use feathers with mine and it works well. I think PSE just came out with some new vanes that are made just for the Bisquit. If you tell shop you get your arrows from that you are using that rest, they can put a little extra glue in the right places to help with the problem. Jeff

Just ate a unit 21 tag samich. Yuck! 5 full days and 2 half days in the field 35 + hours glued behind the tripod 112 miles on the quad 500 + miles on the truck lost count of miles hiked 1 flat tire All my gear wet, muddy and / or rusty. And I still had a blast!

I was 20 miles from the truck when the rain came yesterday. A 20 mile quad ride (salt flat to Bald Hill) in the cold rain is not fun. I got out of there about 6:30 last night. Going back as soon as the wind dies. BTW, Dugas road sucks when it's wet! I swear I have 300 lbs of mud in my wheel wells.

That gets me exited! I'll be in 21 starting Monday morning through the end of rifle season.

That sucks! Stuck in "The land of fruits and nuts" with the Coues rut in full swing and tag in pocket. Just keep swilling the eggnog and before you know it you'll be planted behind the tripod again.

You can hunt with both rifle and bow, but you can only kill one deer per year. If you kill in Jan. you can't kill again till the following year.

I would use a .50 BMG, but again, that's just me.

I got off work at noon on Friday and was glassing a big canyon by 2:00. Stayed out till dark without even seeing a doe. Got up and was in position before sunup. Glassed non-stop till noon and did not even see a doe again. Not sure what's going on as there were a lot of deer in this canyon 2 weeks ago. I have the week after Christmas off, so that'll be my main hunting time. Hopefully things will pick up.

Josh, I saw the pics on MM. I'd shoot that buck without a second thought. I was in the Pine Mountain Area also, but not all the way to the wilderness boundry. Maybe 3-5 miles west of the campground that is at the end of the road.
