a deadline is a deadline. Should nfl players quit playing with a minute to go? Mlb walk away with 2 outs in the ninth? -
How bout leaving an hour and a half before light to get to my glassing spot just to have a side by side cruise up the wash in the canyon to be at the same spot in 10 minutes.

Realistic view. Ive been to meetings, the majority complains of not getting drawn, they create more opportunity, we all bitch about the number of hunters in the field, the numbers of tags increased, 4 whitetail hunts, etc. Most of the bitching comes from people who have un-realistic expectations of the draw. Or who have two points for elk and whine about not getting an elk tag when they only put in for premium hunts. I have always been treated well by officers in the field. They are at the bottom of the corporate food chain and most of them don't agree with the recommendations being imposed upon them either. I don't think it's the officers that are in question, more of the admin side. I won't mention names, but have had officers "off the record" agree. -

The problem is, everything is free unfortunately. If you ever went up redington pass, everyone and their brother on the east side would target practice up there for free, and they TRASHED a few areas. I ran into NFS up there one year while they were surveying the problem. I stopped and said, "Whattaya guys gonna do bout this garbage?" They said, "whattaya we suppose to do?" Then I suggested 1. Hand everyone that shoots there a garbage bag, it needs to be filled before that person leaves. They said they don't have the man power for that. I said do it every wknd. for just one month, then you'd be done for a bit. Either they would have the area clean, or they'd go somewhere else cause they didn't wanna work. 2. Charge a fee to go up the mountain. As much as I absolutely dread this thought, it worked well for Mount Lemmon. 3. No more target shooting. And as much as I dread this thought, that's exactly what they did.

Maybe it's just a down south thing.
