So I'm headed to work today to Indio, CA. Coming from Tucson, I'm taking the 10 west forwards CA. Bout 8 miles before I hit US 60, I see this tank about 100 yds on the north side of I10. Guessing it's unit 44a. Pulled the rig over and snapped some shots with the cell (I know, they suck). Who got this tag? Was this a ram they passed? If so.... I wanna see the one that got killed.

I bought a Lion Tag @ Walmart yesterday and it was the same tag I have always bought in the past. Was it exact? Had a buddy who got one, it's similar but, they aren't universal with the punch on which species and cost. No big deal, just wondering exactly how many different kinds of tags for the same species are floating around.

First you need to check the leftover list. It has changed and will probably help you narrow down a unit.

Dude, tags purchased at azgfd have the sticky, retailers dont. WTF? Much like the way they handled the end of year sales, price increases, jaguar, sheep, antelope....blah, blah, blah.... It screams amateur hour.

take out latex glove, put tag in glove, blow glove up, tie 10ft piece of thread to glove, tie other end to animal. Note: thread must be Atleast 10ft long so AZGFD can easily identify glove from new 4x4.

Well, spent a good amount of time on the hill this hunt. Seen many bucks, but was having issues with quality. First wknd I had my dad (he had a tag as well) with me, after that I was solo. Friday was a beautiful day, glassed 4 bucks packin together. Mine seperated from the kids, bedded in a paloverde. Cut the difference in half (361 yds), and had assrot and eyestrain for bout the next 5hrs. He got up, let a round fly. Then the work came. Didn't seem like he was gonna be a hard packout, so I just tied him whole on the frame. Threw my pack on top, slung the rifle and sweated my sack. Got back to the truck bout 7ish, snapped a pic and headed home. If I can't shoot a 110, might as well kill a guy with attitude. Ain't put a good tape on him yet, but he'll be round 90 if I'm lucky.

You guys are probably right. Just seems that some of the guys from the states that guide down there would be setting a new WR. Maybe they are....shhhhh

Seems to me more high-end whitetail get killed in the states. High-end = 110+
