    Knoll lake

I stopped by there 2 weeks ago for the first time ever after bein unsucessful at tryin to catch some pike at long lake and soldiers. What a beautiful lake. If you have a lil rig to get on the water you'll be better off. there was some campers and shore fishing, but you can get away from that with a tube or any small boat. Would recomend something that you can take w/o a trailer cause that road is washboardy as heck. Cant see the rain making it untravelable. Fished it for a few hours on a Sunday AM before we had to head back and caught 3 like this. Wish I could've stayed longer to figure em out a lil better.

    locked antlers

dang, thats cool!! But I wonder how they died? It was in January when you found em? Thats what the time stamp says, which makes sense, cause of the rut. But they must not have been dead for too long of a time. They dont look like they starved, I dont see no chew marks on em, none of the tines are missing from a long fall? HMMMMMMMMMM

Mount it or Not Mount it

Thats a really sweet bull. But Id say NO to mounting. I understand how you would want to keep the same cape with the same rack, heck I have a whitetail on the wall that is bout......sheesh......20+ yrs old. What Im gettin at is sooner or later your gonna need to have the cape re-done. Im wrestling with having my whitetail re-done, but I see all the new mounts and it sure would pretty that sucker up. besides that, euro mounts take up enough room as it is, let alone a shoulder mount. And moving, and $......I already think you know the answer to your question, otherwise you wouldnt have asked. EEEHHHHHH...what the heck.....mount that sucker!!!!

    Good Idea or Not

You mean "aint no harder" right? Whats un-natural about calling in a tom during mating season with a decoy? Like you said, no different then a bull or buck.

    Good Idea or Not

As far as Im concerned, the only reason an adult goes turkey hunting (or pig hunting for that matter) is because it gives them an excuse to get outside. Nothing wrong with that.....but personally for me, I havent even applied for a turkey tag in years. Ive killed many turkeys when I was younger as well as pigs, but IMHO, thats what those hunts are geared for. I mean really.....how many beards or skulls does one really need. And if your doin it for the meat, it doesnt feed for long. Im all for the kids reeking havok!!!!!!

New Rigs??? Archery season is coming!

I got atleast 1k in a ross cardiac that I bought last year. It shoots just fine, and if it lasts anything like my PSE laser II, I should be good for another 10yrs.

    #unit 27 Elk Rut

My ol man had the early rifle tag in here bout 5 years ago. the way we got onto his bull was that we were gettin a lot of bugles out of the huge meadows before sunrise. There was no way to shoot that long of a distance so we would get on a pattern of watchin the herd bulls move outta these meadows and into the draws before you could even see. Once you figgured out which draw they were using, you just get up really early and just play ambush in that draw. took us almost the whole hunt to figure this out. But worked like a champ! Good luck, and I wish I had that tag!!

    Rosy avoidance

Me and a buddy decided to avoid Rosey cause of the tmx and head down to Alamo. We caught 20 LMB on spinnerbaits and topwater. Although its a smaller lake then Rosy, it has a old school charm to it like Rosy used to be. Can camp next to the water, can fish by the dam. Just one LONG butt DRIVE from Tucson anyway.

    Wild dogs

Ive ran across "wild" dogs before. I hunt unit 33 and not right next to any roads, thats for dang sure. My question is (and without gettin bashed by hound users), are these dogs Im runnin across, that are super aggressive, dogs that have been lost by amateur lion hunters and couldnt be relocated? Its only been like this over the last few years. But I have a buddy that hunts unit 36a/c and usually has to kill some every year.
