That is some beautiful country! Great write up and an awesome bull, congrats!

Hope yall enjoy! This buck looks like a dandy! He has a cool little kicker on his left G-2 also. Now these bucks are from a different spot and the picture are a lot more grainy; but they seem to have many resemblances! He looks like a monster to us! A few different ones in the same spot Another look of the one we think is pretty nice! The big one! And one last one of a smaller buck!

I apologize, I haven't posted in forever. But here are some of our most recent finds This was our first set a 3 by, that I'd imagine would hit around 90 inches, with 4 1/2 inch eye guards! Here is all of them, the biggest a brownie 3 pt scoring around 46 gross And the small ones lol

I'm sure it has been asked before, but is there a way to tell the age of a buck by a shed? I know there is a saying about the burr that helps you find whether he's young or not, but I have forgotten. Anyone?

It has been way too long since i've posted anything on here. Nevertheless, lets recap on how 2010 went! For me, i was fortunate enough to harvest several animals. It all started in January, when i was able to get a javelina with my bow, unfortunately, I have no pictures. Found out later on, we didn't draw on any hunts, so then came archery hunting in August. The first day of bow season I was lucky enough to take my first deer ever! Then in October, it was off to Texas to chase some deer and pigs.. I was very excited to take a two point, here he is Also I was able to connect on a Rio Grande Turkey! My first turkey ever! All in all, 2010 was a very good year, being able to harvest five animals in two different states! I hope all of you were able to get out and make new memories, now let's see your 2010 success!

I didn't have time to post this last night, as there was much work from taking my first deer. There's really not much of a story to this, my dad joked it as being the easiest hunt he's ever been on.. As soon as i got home from school, we headed to "our spot", and the rest is pretty much history. We found a little buck and got on him pretty quick. I made a twenty yard shot on my first deer, and he went down almost instantly. Here's the only picture I have uploaded so far, with my little brother and I. As you can tell, he expired pretty close to the road, thank god! Lol. Muzzy's did the job, without a problem, the buck piled up about ten yards from where I shot him. I shoot PSE

You guys could be apart of the rage commerical with that hole! Lol. Was it spot & stalk or how?
-
Good job, congrats! What kind of broadheads were yall using? Looks like a pretty good size hole in the bottom buck

Figured I would add my first buck since I started the topic.. Took this little guy the first day of archery season, around 4:20 p.m. , made a real good shot at 20 yards, and the rest is history. Cannot wait until January!

Thank you! And yes Amanda, it was spot & stalk.. My father, uncle, and other uncle have all been hunting coues for about 35 years now, and I'm the first one to get one with a bow!

I'm pretty sure the guy who took that buck uses this forum, and also I believe he won cwt's annual buck competition.. but I could be wrong.

How long has it been since you been drawn for bull elk
shylopolito replied to joeybari's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
My dad has only drawn one tag in about 15 years of putting in. I have one bonus point -
I went out yesterday for the first time in a while, and it proved to be a very good day, we saw almost 100 deer! These were the first bucks we saw, and this was the best picture we got, if you can zoom in, please do. The middle buck is an absolute giant! What do you guys think of him? He may look a little small in the picture, but he was a good distance away, and the two bucks to his left are also decent bucks, so yall can have almost a scale to how big this buck was.

That first mount is awesome!!
