    Arizona Elk Society Banquet

OK, here is my update on Table/Seats. I have received payment and mailed out the tickets for Chef - 6 tickets, 2 for the Curtis Brothers, that fills one table. Then I have Allen Taylors 3 seats and 1 for Edward Brown, that fills half of the second table. I know I have spoken to a couple of other people, but I have not received anything in the mail yet. We are down to about 100 seats left for the banquet, so if you are wanting to attend and maybe not at the CWT table's then I urge you to purchase as soon as possible. Thanks for everyone's support.

New Box Calls and Turkey Seminar Today

Mark is on call, but we will try to be there if he does not get a call out.
  10. We had a great time there last night, and I won some of the raffles . Yes we do spend a fair amount of money but It is just a matter of luck and odds. I have been to banquets and spent more than I did last night and not win anything. That being said, our only goal is to donate money to a great organization and maybe get something in return. We gave an item to the young man drawing the tickets as well, and I gave a bottle of liquor to the raffle ticket sales lady. I will be donating most of the winnings to another organization for their banquet. I am not so sure that it will run off first timers, as I recall being a first timer we spent $500 and won a water jug, that was 13 years ago and we are still hanging in. We love our state and wildlife and want to do all we can to support it and the groups that help. It is all about the giving, fun and no expectations of anything in return except the satisfaction of helping our critters. Headed to the AZ Bowhunters Assoc Banquet tonight.
  11. Such a sad day! We have lost a good friend and a great supporter of wildlife. Jim will be greatly missed. Prayers for his family and firends. Rest in Peace my friend

    Girls and Hunting

When I was growing up we had family vacations at the lake, camping and fishing. I loved it! I was always the first one on the boat ready to catch the most fish. As I grew older and realized my dad and uncles were going hunting in November every year( in Texas) for deer, I asked to go. You would have thought that I asked for a million bucks! Keep in mind this was about 40 years ago. I was told that I could not go that women were not allowed in hunt camp. It took me several years of begging to go before I was allowed to tag along, only to be told to stay put in the cabin!! Never got to shoot or hunt! But the desire never left me, just went dormant. I did not meet the right guys untill 14 years ago I met the love of my life. My husband has, in his words, created a monster! I try to tell him, no you just woke it up, but I am so thankful that he came into my life for many reasons. I was very fortunate to have my husband take me and my dad to his brothers place in Texas and have us hunt together, it is one of the most happiest time's in my life, hunting with my Dad. The story is that Mark, Dad and I were in a shooting house, I had just shot a young Axis buck and it was Dad's shot next, when a big Whitetail showed up, Mark told my Dad not to shoot, but to let me take this buck, My first whitetail. I shot and it went around a tree, I was so nervous, had buck fever! Mark told us to just wait about 10 minutes then we would go get it. Well about 5 min later out comes another deer, for a split second we think it was the one I shot, but Mark told Dad to shoot it. Here is the picture of me and my Dad with our bucks. Daddy told me that he was very proud of me and that he was happy that we got to hunt together, that he was sorry that it took all these years to realize that it was not just for men. I am glad that times have changed in the hunting world. Me and my Daddy with our bucks in Texas

It is OK Shelvin, you can still show the CWT pride with a T-shirt I feel we should have no problem selling the other 4 seats. I am excited that CWT will have 2 tables this year. I am pretty sure as well that we are going to be sold out in advance again this year. Thanks for all the support of our precious wildlife. Kathi

We have noticed that the last several years it has been going downhill. Mark and I will be there Sunday morning 10a-2p working the AZ Elk Society Booth, then we will walk around, but figure it will only talk us a short amount of time if it is like last year.
