  1. First off Congrats to all the others that feel as good as I do right now, for those that didn't draw I know that feeling too. I can't hardly contain myself at the moment.

I drew a Unit 1 archery Bull tag what a great feeling I only wish my dad would of got drawn too. We put in on separate apps this year, and he did not score. He does not have many good years left.

    good luck to all

    let the scouting begin

  2. NO immediate relation to the Hatch brothers that own the dodge dealership, but I am sure there is somewhere down the line. I come from a Vernal, Utah line of Hatch's

So it sounds like it is time to get out and look for bucks and pattern them for a little better chance of picking up their sheds.

Scott, do you work for PD (FMI)?

    Welcome to a great site.

There is already a couple threads started on when they will start to shed thier bone. It should be pretty soon though. There are a lot of coues hunters in the Safford area but I don't know how many of them are shed hunters. I will be going out in a month or so to look for sheds and start the scouting process for 08. Good luck. Watch for snakes.

BTW are you any relation to Hatch brother Dodge dealer in safford?

No I don't work for the mine. I work at Roper Lake south of Safford. Do you work at the mine?

  4. Are there any places in globe to take a look at these vortex. a place here in safford carries vortex but they say there in no demand in safford for any 15 power binoculars of any kind. Been to the sportsman warehouse in tucson and they were out of vortex, minox and brunton. I would love swaroski but can't afford that kind of money yet.

Would you mind E-mailing me the name of the place in Safford that you are refering to. I own Gila Outdoor In Safford and We are a Vortex dealer. Right now we have the full line of Vortex binoculars including spotting scopes. The 15x are on their way.

I heard rumor that Gila outdoor was moving to he old Walmart in Thatcher and opening an indoor archery range. is this true?

  5. This topic brings up a question that is always on my mind when i am hiking in the warm months.

If you were bitten by a rattler say 2 miles from the truck or quad, and your by yourself is it better to make that hike out which excellerates your heart rate, or wait for your rescue party. keep in mind the rescue party may not come for a while. especially if you don't have cell service.

personally I think I would walk out and take my chances. Any snake xperts or medcal people have an opinion?

here is a pic of one I saw this summer in my hunting area.

  6. For the last five years I have been logging on to this site and I have enjoyed all the pictures and learned so much by just reading everyone elses posts. I have not really posted much myself so I thought I would share some photo of the 07 season. I was dedicated to getting a dear with my bow this year but it did'nt happen. I still had a great year tho, and I got off to a good start for 08 with an archery pig and a coati

I had terrible luck with my trail cam I did not capture a single buck on camera, I have countless pictures of does but no bucks.

    nice bucks buy the way

Yes, I do drive a chevy truck(4x4) with red interior. It is a 79. Do I know u from somewhere?

no we dont know each other but I seen you around the Auto shop at the college before and I recognized your face its probably been about a year or more I was working on my blazer in the shop and I talked to you about your truck. I remember faces well and I always remember nice old trucks.

  8. does any body use only spotting scopes for glassing. I already have some 20x 60 pentax binos that I use but I been thinking of buying a nikon spotter to reach out a little further. with my current set up I have a hard time findin deer at distance unless they are up feeding I want a spotter to better see in the shadows and such. I have never glassed with a scope and wondered if most people just use them to take a closer look at game they have found or if you are using them for hrs at a time like binos. is the eye strain too much. the nikon scopes are in my price range and I looked through one yesterday and was very impressed. it would be in the 15-45x65 range

  9. My brother bought a Ruger M77 in .308 and the trigger sucks! I'm not familiar with Ruger but do they all come @ like 15lbs? Kidding, not that much, but it's heavy. Anyone set their own or does it have to go to a gunsmith?

I just talked to a local smith here in safford about my Ruger M77 .270 he said it would be about $50.00 to do a trigger job I am not comfortable digging sround in there myself nor do I know whats involved so I will probally shelll out the 50 bones
