There is a few up in our neck of the woods (saw 8 in August) right on the AZ/NM border . Used to be quite a few about 10 years ago but the locals put a pretty good dent in their population over the years !!!

I did the same thing before and luckily all my stuff was still there when I came flying out of bed in the middle of the night . That will definitely wake you up out of a dead sleep and make the hair on the back of your neck stand up . I have made it a habit to take photos of all my hunting gear with serial #'s , brand , model, ect. and I keep them in the safe . Glad you didn't loose anything !!!

I killed 3-deer (1-Coues and 2-Muleys) with the same arrow before the last one fell over on the shaft and snapped it !!!

They are convenient and great when you're exploring new area and decide to make a stand out on the trail . I have an area I hunt in particular only a couple times a year (due to the distance) and I would much rather pack a blind in and out of there than have to make several trips in there hanging and pulling stands.

I've rattled/called quite a bit over the years and had some giant Mule Deer come in . Had a fair amount of Coues also but nothing huge (hopefully on the 1st that will change) mostly low to mid 80's....
