    Doves

Hay all I am putting my wife's patented killer dove stir fry recipe here goes First and foremost before we get any marinading and cooking done put the freshley washed dove breast in salt water to soak overnight in the fridge, this removes blood and makes it easier to see any pellets left in the breasts. Marinade 20 dove breasts overnight in 1 cup red wine, 1 cup terriaki or soy marinade, 1 tblsp of garlic salt, and 1/4 tblsp black pepper mix up and cover with plastic put in fridge overnight. 20 marinaded dove breasts de-boned and cut into small 1/4" cubes 1 cup of tai peanut sauce (jared or bottled store bought) 1/4 cup of olive oil (or peanut oil if you prefer as it has a high cooking temperature tolerence) 1 small bunch of fresh spinach (leaves only cut off stems) 1 to 2 cups of bean sprouts 1 small bag or 1 to 2 cups of snow peas 1 small head of broccoli (flowers only cut off stems) 1 small bunch of fresh green onions chopped (about 6 green onions) We prepare steamed rice in a rice steamer about the same time as we start chopping the veggies, this way once the stir fry is done you can serve on top of a bed of steamed white rice. In wak or large skillet heat oil (peanut oil) on low-med heat. Add chopped dove breasts. Cover breasts with peanut sauce. pile all fresh veggies on top of the dove breasts, this creates a steamer effect, steaming your veggies on top while the dove slowly cooks underneath. Cook uncovered on low heat, dove in sauce should be simmering lightly under veggie mountain. Cook this way untill you veggies start to soften, lift veggies with spatula to check on breasts lightly stirring meat. After veggies soften and start to look steamed mix everything together (make sure dove meat has fully cooked) let cook 15 minutes on low-med heat once mixed and serve over steamed rice. All and all we are kids plus neighbors kids always asking for seconds.

    my F-350 hood orament

Dude that's the coolest hood ornament I have ever seen! I would rather have that on my truck than any factory hood ornament from any car producer .Those antlers are sick great job!
  5. Well these stories are great and hit home on alot of points but the weirdest most recent thing that happened to me and a great hunting buddy is we were scouting for Deer and javalina in January in the supersitions for an other friend that had a ham hunt and trying to get familiar with the terrain so we hiked on top of a good sized hill and found a cut out at the top . A comfy spot to do some glassing that had sun to our backs and decent shade and a cool light breeze hitting us in the face this would soon become a bad decision on my part . As we were at the top nature called and I opted to move down wind a bit and found a weird suicide note that looked like was in a home made shrine there was a faded out picture of some girl very hard to make out as the weather had wiped most of the note and the picture out .As I finished my business sat down and went back to glassing for about an hour when all of a sudden we heard the craziest distress /fight call ever I looked to my left just in time to see this huge owl flying up the ridge headed towards us with a huge black animal of some kind in its clutches as it got closer I realized it had a big skunk by one legs and back of its head and this skunk was going nuts .we both just watched as this owl decided to fly right over us not more than 15 feet above us we could hear his wings flap and the crazy skunk sreaming his lungs out my Buddy and I were both paralyzed just gawking at this when as soon as I realized ( that wind I mention in our face) we were getting a golden shower from the flailing skunk! I couldn't out of the way fast enough the owl flew up about 30 or more feet and just let the skunk do a peter pan right on the rocks below then sat down for a nice tenderized meal. However I got the worst of the spraying and my buddy mainly got his pants with it but my hat my pack and my shirt was never the same so I made a smelly donation to good will

    Hoochie Mama

most people just know enough to be silly with that call.( Leave that call to every body and there mother that can't call with a mouth call and eventually more elk with come in on seasoned callers that know what to pull out of there tackle box))The best place to experiment with that call if you don't know how to use it is in your buddies honey hole not your own LOL

    30a

Hi all newbie here but had to chime in .Nighthawk there are lot of things to consider before you get a tag in 30A like are you trophy hunting (looking for a monster) or are you just wanting to hunt and have a good time and possibly bag a buck. There is allot of time ,money, energy, and preparation in hunting and the farther you go away from home the more costly it becomes. My 10 year old son was in your shoes and was not able to get drawn for his youth hunt so he looked on the net and found out there were tags for 30A ,36A,36B .we could not agree more with Joeybari on doing home work first just Google unit 30A and you will see what I'm talking about .It seems to be allot of access issues there and some pretty bad stories in the past .My wife and I were lucky enough to get tags for mule deer this season in unit 27 so are son didn't want to get left out not being able to hunt, and for him harvesting meat and having a good time hunting and camping is what its about so since we have hunted 36A and 36B (not to mention closer to us than 30A) he chose 36b the late November hunt. Not trying to discourage you at all just my 2 cents plus if I took my kid out there and all we ran into was no access and no hunting posts every where he'd be @#$% to say the least .Hammy is right lots of Deer in 36A and 36B so the chance of seeing lots of coues for are situation led to getting a tag in 36B .witch reminds me do any of you folks have any pre scouting parties?
