NYC woman defaces National Parks throughout the west with her "art"
naturegirl replied to BigMoqui's topic in The Campfire
I'm pretty sure charges will be filed because they SHOULD be filed. Then I think she should spend 40 hours a week x 52 weeks cleaning up trash in our national parks. Why she thinks it would be in anyway okay to do this is beyond me. -
You're right. That's about as good as it gets

Happy Birthday

I've had bullets whizzing by my head once, but it wasn't during a hunt. That's all it took for me. I'm not interested in ever experiencing that again. If people I don't know have rifles, then I want them to know where I am (orange hat and especially don't forget orange for the horses/mules). Another reason I prefer a bow
-
Not required, but on a rifle hunt I typically wear an orange hat in areas where I know there are other hunters. Just my preference.

"That's bowhunting!" My Illinois archery deer hunt on a budget
naturegirl replied to naturegirl's topic in Other Big Game
Well...we had a few ideas if we needed the room. First was leaving all food behind that was filling the 2 coolers we had in the car. We talked about strapping a deer to the top too, which I guess is a much more acceptable practice there. The other thing involved shipping stuff back to his place or home. Where there is a will there is a way is all I can say. As it was, I had to carry two stinky garbage bags on my lap because they wouldn't fit in the car and there were zero garbage cans anywhere. Guess that's why it was $7 a night! I had to get all the bees out of the bags first...lol I only ended up with about 3 days to hunt. I 100% needed more and will make sure I have at least a week to hunt next time. Poor planning on my end. I think the best thing about it is that it can be done without breaking the bank. Of course, with tagging an animal there would've been additional expenses for shipping the meat and possibly taxidermy. I'd have to research rez hunting more. Last time I checked, but for the San Carlos, it wasn't my cup of tea. -
Guy on a Buffalo- Just to break up the day.

LMAO! Hilarious I wonder if they need any extras for their films......Completely entertaining! -
Great buck! Very cool you took your son along with you
-
Great video & great story! Again, congrats on an awesome bull!

My recommendation is you should try hunting back east before bashing it too bad. It's hunting - just a lot different than how we do it here.

Happy Birthday Amanda!

Awesome! I wanna be hunting when I'm 92.

I put in for turkey, but am not sure on javi yet. Last year I let them walk by me because all I wanted was a deer. Is getting an archery OTC javi tag pretty easy if I don't put in for the draw? I'm not too picky on the unit as long as it's not too far from the east side.

I was mowing some weeds in the yard Sunday and realized I was killing caterpillars in the process so I decided to leave the weeds for now. I grabbed my daughter and told her to start looking for caterpillars in the weeds. She created her own caterpillar house and had a blast catching 6 of them. She was afraid of them at first, but got the hang of it quickly. Now we get to feed them and see what happens. They sure do eat a lot!
-
That's what I've heard, but I still see them in the usual spots I know they like.
-
That's what I was hoping since the limit went up to two. I'll hold off then and try to get an OTC tag if I want one. Javis are fun to hunt, but my priority is taller, brown, and has antlers
-
First thing out of bed this morning she says "I want to see the caterpillars." If anyone close by wants some caterpillars for their kids, PM me.

Funny you say that. It happened to me when I was up north last. here's the funny part though. I wasn't hunting anything. I was taking pictures of who knows what and exercising my rear off. I'd been parked there for a few hours so these guys thought I knew something, but my goal that day was to stay out of the way of where I knew hunters would typically be on their archery elk hunts. They parked a hundred yards or so down the road from me. Well, they got to hike a really steep mountain for no reason. It's kinda funny if you ask me. I saw them for the second time when they drove by my camp awhile later and I didn't see anything in the back of their truck, but I'll bet they were tired

A few years ago someone I know saw a rabbit chase a snake up a tree right here in queen creek. No kidding.

Don't be afraid to ask for help. People are more than willing to help if you ask. I've helped people and people have helped me. This works much better if you have been a CWT member for awhile and didn't just register to ask for help. When I had my Coues hunt last year, I had lots of people offer help, but what I didn't like was when a new member gave me the exact same information that a long-time member gave me. The new guy who posted for help for the same hunt as me took the info given to him through PM and gave it to me. I called him out on it because I didn't think it was his info to give. My advice is read G&F's website on where to start in the unit, then branch off from there. Get a good map. Use your feet and binos and spend time in the unit.

I talked to another woman in Illinois who had the same problem as my mother-in-law with the slide on the LCP. She just plain wasn't strong enough to easily rack the slide or even load the bullets in the mag. I'll continue to relay my opinion when it is asked about the LCP, but in the meantime I am seeking more opinions (from women...not men). I have yet to talk to a woman who loves the LCP, but I'm sure they are out there. I think most of them just say "okay honey whatever you think," but that is solely my opinion.

NICE! Can't wait for the story
