I followed closely as the wolves were re-introduced years back, but haven't followed as closely We live with mountain lions and coyotes everywhere here and most people don't hunt them so I never really understand the outcry when wolves come up. I believe everything has a balance and a balance can be had if managed properly, but these are wolves and you can't always tell a wolf what to kill and what not to kill or where to live and where not to live.

Hope this is the right spot. I got a new truck and would like to get a leveling kit when it becomes available Ram 1500. Here's my question to anyone who has had a leveling kit installed...Does it affect the ride of the truck in anyway? I must say I like the way it drives right now. My husbands 3500 is a little rough which is to be expected, but this 2500 they gave me as a rental drives rougher than the 3500 so it has me thinking about the leveling kit. Thanks!

My youngest daughter is 5. She's been with me since she was in my tummy hunting and fishing. In the past she had a preschool teacher who planted some anti-hunting thoughts into her head so her love isn't there like mine is so I decided it's time to get back to the basics. Last week one day I had asked her do you want to go fishing today? Her answer was no. My response was well it's a nice day you can pick where we go but we are going fishing so I gave her the choice between the lake and the river. She asked lots of questions about both and decided on the river. I thought well the Salt is low, but we'll make the best of it. I grab her two pink Barbie fishing poles, get some stuff together, and off we go. When we got worms at the store, she asked for a Barbie fishing net, which ended up being a very good investment. So we find a somewhat secluded spot on the river and I'm trying to look for water holes deep enough to throw a worm into, but she kept leaning toward catching stuff with her net in the water so there we stayed. I tried moving us down the river a little a couple times so I could just get a pole in, but she was liking where we were. She says "just throw it out there" so I did (in about 6" of water) and there it sat. She ended up letting some of the worms go in the river and the rest got buried, which was great fun for her. We had a great time just the two of us. I'll admit it was hard for me at first, but once I got into HER groove all was good. In return, she was actually excited when I told her we were going fishing at the lake this weekend

I'm with you Hanksaiditbest. I've been three times and put in lot of miles. I've found one. Guess there is a bit of a learning curve for this too, but the exercise is good and I sure was happy when I found that one and was glad no one was watching me How about this..... I was gone for 2 days and my mom thought I was looking for "sheds" the whole time to store stuff in (and no she's not senile). I just had to laugh and laugh some more and I'm still laughing about it.

I have a flat line for 6a which never leaves my pack when I'm there. I've used it a lot, great map, and great quality too.

I have the late 6a tag. I know the area and can help you if needed. Feel free to PM me. Me personally turkeys are fast and I'm not the best shot with a shot gun so the faster I can shoot the better. I take my semi-auto. I don't sit and glass for them. I know where they are historically and then I walk, use my eyes, and glass. When I see them I haul butt to get in front of them however I can. Usually this consists of running very quickly trying not to fall on my face all the while trying to stay hidden on the other side of something from them. Then of course I have to find a way to breathe so I can shoot because before you know it they are in front of me. Anyhow, this is how I've had my best luck because I don't have the patience to sit

My husband was drawn and successful 6a early bull archery 2012 and then drew 2013 6a late archery (tag not filled). Our very good friend drew 2011 6a early bull archery (was successful) and in 2012 drew early bull archery 6a again (tag unfilled). Is this luck or ?? I support a year wait if you draw an elk tag. I'm not lucky like some people so I need all the help I can get.

My husband went through this process for years so first I will say do not give up. If it is your dream, stick with it and make it happen. Volunteer and if you can volunteer in your community fire department or one close by, but anywhere will do that is in the field. Here in the valley it was mostly in a neighboring town to ours, but he volunteered as much as he could. It is good to know the field you are getting into plus you will make some valuable contacts. Make sure all of your certs are where they need to be, all personal medical stuff is taken care of, etc., and then apply, apply, apply. Every time you interview and go through the hiring process, it will make you better at it the next time. Here in the valley it is super competitive and you need to stand out. For my husband it was physical fitness and his self-confidence. He also took an interview class in college that I believe was taught by a fire fighter and he practiced, practiced, practiced. For him this hiring process was like another full-time job. It was very time consuming. You are welcome to PM me and my husband can call you to give you some additional pointers. It took him two years of prepping with school and then over two years of solid interviewing anywhere in the valley that was hiring, volunteering, and almost getting picked up by PD but he finally made it with fire and got hired edit: He also got hired by a smaller dept first, kept applying, and then got hired by a bigger dept less than a year later. He ended up doing two academies in a year. It was really tough.

You have yourself a very good wife and an awesome boy! I've seen a bull like him before. Very cool looking bull!

I've never seen those before. Interesting how it was done in the past. Sounds like more fun than checking your phone every hour when draw results are out. I used to keep my unfilled tags until the pile started getting so big - now they get tossed.
