California Approves Ban
BOWUNTR replied to ready2hunt's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
The handle was pulled years ago and now its circling the drain.... I was fortunate to leave Ca last year and I cannot believe what I'm seeing. I still have a lot of family there and honestly cannot stand to go back, the stress fills my body. Bruce.... do it for your family... Californias only promise for outdoorsmen is that "it will only get worse". Ed F -

If it were any year other than this year, id go to kodiak with you. Ive been trying for years to get someone to go with me, but no one will ever commit. I've been five times.... my favorite place on the planet. After several mild winters it should be fantastic. Ed F

I put all my eggs in one basket and thought I'd draw Wyoming elk.... and I didn't. Hunting moose in Alaska next year so I won't put in for Az again until 2018. Then I'm gonna have to deal with Wyoming again. I'm kinda sick over it right now. The first time in a long time that I don't have my season planned out. I might have to jump on a plane and hunt Kodiak.... Ed F

BOWUNTR replied to swwildlife's topic in Southwest Wildlife Taxidermy
Amazing work.... congratulations. Ed F -
Thanks. I called Bull Basin and they said it was just a rumor. He has the plates and handles but no heads. I have one head and am stuck with running two tripods. I'll keep looking. Thanks for your help. Ed

My first time... thought it was pretty cool. I really was intrested in the taxidermy competition display. I joined the Arizona Taxidermy Association and sat in on a 3 1/2 hour seminar. I wish it would have been longer.... Ed F

I just moved to Prescott and have had a beetle colony for the past 4 years. It started as a hobby and then I was doing over a hundred a year... My prices are very reasonable. You can ship to me or I can make another trip to Cabelas... Ed F

Whitetail deer with a Muzzy MX3... no tracking involved.... It's all about shot placement, not how big the hole is. Ed F

This is a bizarre request and I'm embarrassed to ask.... but here it goes. I recently moved to Prescott and was taking my last truckload of stuff to my new house. I had a set of caribou antlers on top of the load in the bed of my truck and somewhere along the route... the antlers fell out. Dumb move for not tying them down. This occurred at about 1 am this morning (12-08-15). I was coming from Southern California and last saw them in the bed of my truck when I fueled up in Ehrenberg off the 10 freeway. I took the 10 to the 60 to the 71 and then through Skull Valley. The only real bump in the road is the tracks in Aguila at the 71 and that is where I believe they fell out. When I found out that they were missing in Prescott I immediately turned around and retraced my route in the dark and then again when the sun came up.... two tanks of fuel... nothing. I am sick to my stomach. Everyone here knows what a trophy set of antlers means to them. This is a unique and beautiful set of Barren Ground Caribou antlers from a bull I arrowed in September in Alaska. It has the blue steel Alaska F&G tag on it. I'm hoping that someone hears a story about an unusual find in the Arizona desert. I will pay a reward to get the antlers back. I've seen good things like this happen on CouesWhitetail, com before. I don't know what else to do. Thanks. Ed F PM me or email me at fanchins@aol.com
