I'm not so sure about that calculator. That's 300# dressed... that would put the live weight closer to 400#. My deer was over 200#... but not 300#...
If I used your hanging weight 141# and their claimed weight 93#... that's about 2/3. That puts mine at 180# hanging... plus the bones and then the guts... puts it in low 200's.
Who cares... that butcher sucks. Ed F

I have to disagree with this... I turned in 120# boned out meat... I watched them weigh it. But... under the circumstances I wouldn't bet against them having a funny scale.
I've used Wahoo before, fair pricing. Ed F

I just figured that they were just hosing the non-resident... but it looks like you're a local. The other butcher 15 miles south has been doing mine for the last 4 years, same thing, $105. For some reason they were not doing deer this year. Ed F

This is ironic... I used the butcher in Pickrell for the first time and got hosed too. I asked... and the lady told me it wouldn't be much more than my $100 deposit. I turned in 120# of boned out meat and it cost me $220 for ground and some sliced jerky meat. They charged me fees to fire up the grinder, the slicer and $2 a pound for beef fat... that would have eventually ended up in their trash. The topper was they threw 4 of my game bags in the trash after I requested that they be returned. The most I've ever paid for a deer. I'm going back to processing my own. Ed F

I know 2 guys that take more than 3 a year in Mexico with their bows. Money and available tags is all it takes. Congratulations and good luck. Ed F

I'll be down there the 10th through the 20th. You're welcome to camp by me. I was down there all last week and it was a shitshow with illegals and no enforcement that I saw. I called some in and didn't see a response.. Ed F

I would guess that with the elk draw they either didn't know about all the problems or couldn't fix them before they finalized the results. With only 100 sheep tags and early notice of the issue, you would think that they could fix it before finalizing anything.
You're hoping... They should have fired the entire IT Department and their supervisor in February. If AZGF was a private company they'd be out of business. Ed F

I have to think that they know this was an issue, so that they are going to be very careful about reissuing any sheep tags due to rejected cards. They typically don't reassign cards until the following week anyways, so it shouldn't be too hard for them to keep it straight....but they never cease to impress us with their ability to make mistakes, so who knows.
The big question is if they are issuing extra tags above the quota to those who call them out. I know of 6 extra elk tags that were issued above the quota when they called them out on the elk draw fiasco... Ed F

If AZGFD was a private company... the entire IT staff would be fired and replaced with competent people.... Ed F
