coues4x4 replied to SouthernCouesHunter's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Pick a spot,pick a spot,pick a spot,pic a spot.Thats what I tell myself over and over as I'm drawing the bow back.You"ll get your deer just remember,the deer won't die if the arrow don't fly. -
I was talking to a buddy from work, and of course the topic was couesdeer. He mentioned that there were eastern whitetail or whitetail other than couesdeer here in AZ.I thought he might of seen a hybred but he said the G&F verified it.Now are these people seeing things or are there other deer in AZ besides coues and mulie?
-
THats what I thought. Thanks Lark.
-
My buddy said that the deer he saw had a body like a mule deer but it definitely was a whitetail.
-
I'm shocked to know Lark has almost all his spelling down to a science.Keep up the good work Lark.

Thats exactly what I thought, good smoke or maybe they stumbled on a secret stash somewhere.Anyway I only know of the coues and mulie inhabitating AZ according to all the habitat maps.

Welcome to the world of the wacky couesdeer hunters. Congrats on your first coues. What unit were you in?
-
My first archery coues was 2 years ago on opening morning.I was hunting a waterhole where i had missed twice the year before. There must be something about that little deer because I've killed elk, muley, lion, and two antelope with a bow.Now I'm not saying I'm a pro but I do get the most nervous around coues.
-
Jiho de la ch------,nice muley.
