Go behind the Fane Ranch (the east side next the mountains). Get on the powerline road and go down about 4 miles. Right when you are able to see the open prairie you are in great pig country. Last year antelope hunting we glassed probably 30 and ran into two other herds. Concentrate between the powerline road and the Ranch.

There I was with a 2 iron, ridin a buffalo, with a bottle of Jim Beam and listening to Johnny Cash on my ipod. I looked up to see this 22 year old guy drive up and shoot a world class deer from the road. One of the craziest things I have ever see. Thats how it all went down I was their I swear.

"MOST" of them stink. I know some people who think theirs don't stink.

I know as far as migratory birds go it is already illegal to hunt in baited areas. We hunt off of our existing milo and wheat fields for dove and the fish and wildlife and G&F say that it is not baiting because it is there for a reason other than feeding the dove. So I would say anything a rancher puts out for his cows (including water) would be legal to hunt over.

Way to go on your first elk. Nice job! My first elk was a number 11 so you are starting out with a nice one.
