I had the opportunity to go on this hunt with my good friend and cousin titan merrill. we had pretty good morning finding elk. we found 4 or 5 other bulls when we glassed these ones bedded up on the side of the ridge. he was with 3 other big bulls and we couldnt decide which one to shoot. as we sat there for 30 min deciding which bull to shoot titan finally settled the crosshairs of the 30-378 on the bull and squeezed one off. the bull never moved. as i watched the other three bulls run up the hill i thought for sure he shot the wrong bull. as soon as we came around the corner and saw what he shot I was assured that we shot the right one. congrats to titan on this bull. couldn't of happened to a better guy.

That big 3rd on him now is just shy of 34 in. We scored him at 394 this yr.

Willyhunts I think I have a set off that bull that I found this last spring I'm almost positive it's him

That is a sweet looking shed cohntr6 you match him up? And yes I'm a Hamblin.

rough score on him was 388 6/8 he has 55 inch main beams on both sides. that big third is just under 34 inches. his 5ths are the only thing keeping him from 400 inch mark. we gave him a 40 inch spread but everyone who looks at him think he has a better spread than that. the only other set that compares to this set was the 140 inch coues set that i found a few years ago. This one was special though having my wife and daughter with me. It was her first shed hunting trip and will be hard to top.

well i went out today with my wife and one year old. My wife wanted to hike for a few hours for mothers day. we went to a spot I knew well and knew it was an easy hike. little did i know i was going to find my biggest set to date. I had my daughter on my back when i found the first side. I told my wife we werent leaving till i matched him up. I matched him up 30 minutes later and i was excited to say the least. not bad for a two hour hike any guesses on the score.

why is it taking so long to post results. it usually never takes this long after cards are hit.
-
heard that the game and fish site got hacked and the people drew money from peoples accounts. thats why it is taking so long because they are having to redraw for the tags. could be a rumor but thats what i heard.

we scored the head right around 360. his spread and main beam kill him. huge bull none the less. and i dare the game and fish to come try to take it. the law states if there is no hair on the skull you can take it right?? this bull has been dead for well over a year. he is not as brown as he looks. we weren't on the reservation monstercoues. most of them were found in unit 27.

Usually do better on north faces for whatever reason. Try to hit sides of hills, drainages, places where four wheelers can't get. That's usually where I do best.
