2013 Shootin' The Moon Tournament - Register Here!
bowfishAZ replied to Joe Kauffman's topic in Fishing
Derek why don't you try to get someone to shoot with you off your ride?? I can see putting a team together since you have a boat being easier than jumpin on someone's boat -
He better wear his outdoorsmans pack. They ride real good when you fill that back pack full of weight!!!! Look out for team Parkinson's n' Wop!!!!!
-
500-650lbs!!??? Every team last year shot 15-25 fish except for us. Our 56 fish maybe weighed 375lbs!!!! I'm thinkin someone shoots 400lbs of fish they'll be sittin purrrty like Travis' mouth!!!
-
Travis, You'll be the biggest coon there! Well, you and team young guyz that is!!
-
TOTAL WEIGHT!!!! EXCELLENT FORMAT FOR LAKE PLEASANT!!!! COUNT TEAM CATALINA MARINA IN!!
-
Hey Xman, Ill be takin my wife and 2 yr old boy up there to shoot some fish this weekend and maybe even try to catch some (seems like its been years since ive tryed to catch a fish with a pole!!) If you see a tiger striped bowfishing rig come say whats up!! Did you guys tip those jigs with live minnows?
-
Thats awesome!! Congrats to the dude who caught it!!! I cant wait for July 1st!!! Itll be LEGAL to shoot catfish with a bow!!!!!!! I plan on being on roosey June 30th waiting for midnight!!!
-
Hey Travis no wonder you shot like sh*t with your partner rubbing your shoulders!!! But What more can you expect out of a team named CHOMO187 and a 12 yr old partner!!!
-
Our day 2 big 10 after we culled about 15-20 smaller fish Headin back across the lake to weigh in Lined out about 13 rigs on the shore at weigh in It was a real fun shoot!! We ended up taking 3rd which paid our entry's back plus covered the weekend expenses!! Couldn't have asked for better weather!! The buffs were definitely up and the carp were everywhere!! Can't wait for the next one!!!
-
Now thats a good lookin boat in the back ground!!!
-
12x50s!!! dont be so crazy!!!
-
Anybody going to be at Roosey scouting the lake Friday with us!?? Were heading up Thursday night if you wanna come by and drink a few too many with us!!!!
-
The fish are there. Shootin the Moon last year my partners D (HuntAZ), Luke and I shot 56 fish!! There was one point we wouldnt even get off the rack to take the fish to the bucket, we just tossed them in the bottom of the boat and kept shooting!! Nothin big though, just your average, small, lake plez carp! You guys should come up to Roosevelt and shoot our tournament!! The buffalo will be up and it'll be a blast!! Shooting 20+ pound fish beats the heck outta shooting 7-8 pound fish!!

Just get rid of your TV!!!!! It only rots your brain!!

4 and 5 feet is a deep shot if your not used to it!! CWpredator and I had a night in early March that was like that! It was our first trip of the year so it took a little time and aiming juice to start filling the bucket. We all shoot instinctively, and it seems like once you get your consistency up at 1-3 foot of water, then its nothing but a couple reminder shots (shooting high) and your killin them at 4-6 foot. Keep at it!

Well I guess anything is possible.. I talked to Gary this morning and he did confirm only 2 fish.. Hes thinkin it had something to do with a little front that moved through. I can see how Things can change from shore.. If those fish arent up on top/on the shore line you'll never see them.. If i was going to shoot shore line I'd take a 6' A frame ladder and wade out a little ways and get up high. Its incredible what youll see once you gain elevation on the fish!! When your in a boat, even in January, youll usually see more than 2 carp in a day!! Ive been shootin ducks at roosey and wished i had brought my bowfishing bow!!
-
Good luck tonight!!!! Don't do a Cole or a Jack Frazier out there!!!
-
I was thinkin the same thing....

We always see a lot of cats, channels and flat heads, when were shooting fish at night. They are usually in 4-8 foot of water. As for bait, we always fished flat heads with live bait, either 1-2 pound carp or bluegil, and channels either cut bait, minnows or a big glob of nightcrawlers did the trick. Those flat heads gotta be startin to feed heavily for the pre spawn. Hope this helps!

Back of any of the north shore coves at pleasant (coles or humbug would probably be your best bet) I heard they are really rollin in the shallows now!! Good luck
