Depends on how far you really are going to shoot. The 6.5-284 is a great caliber. But nothing beats the 300 ultra when it comes to really long shots. I will have both soon. Just waiting for my Schneider barrel to show up in a few weeks so I can have my 6.5-284 built

I just ordered a barrel to build a 6.5-284 can't wait to try it out. I know alot of guys use the 4831sc. Look on the 6mmbr website they have a few loads listed on there

I've had the rifle for awhile now. It was a 30-06. Vowell had a factory Remington 300 RUM barrel so I had a gun smith swap out the barrels just in time to go check it out for the hunt. The gun shot great so I decided I should use the new 300 rum over my old one since this one didnt have any kills on it yet I love the MPI thumb hole stock. It makes for a comfortable set up
