  1. http://www.iclei.org/ ICLEI is not a friend of America Agenda 21 Not a Friend of America The UN These things are all tied together....There is some co aligning also that HSUS is part of..Sounds like a futuristic movie of conspiracy but ..Look it up for your self Long term goals are the very things they make movies over....Crowd the people in cities ..no pets why because they compete for food. No person owning a weapon..No Hunting as the wildlife corridors will be off limits to people They redirect our attention to other things but here is Obama signing an order which read up on it carefully and what it sets the future for telling us how and what we can do with our own property what we can grow..YES fact not fiction Oh and People Regean wasn't the greatest man on earth either go back remember history Do not fall for the democratic or Republican fleecing over the eyes Good ole Ronny he did two major things which opened the flood gates of a much of what we are suffering today 1 he took the welfare program turned it form a federal program and dumped it in the individual states laps ..California Arizona New Mexico and Texas were hit the hardest financially 2nd and it was the flood gates of the Agenda 21 foot in the door The AMNESTY PROGRAM...not only big door to the flood of people who now suck the life out of the states welfare systems it was also a big foundation to the open door corridors plan for the future...Try piecing the little dots together All the presidents have signed or have done something that have dug us deeper in this Sustainability and Do it for Green LIES ( Go one to think about those supposed environmentally friendly lights..PS they contain enough MERCURY but don't worry the ONE little green light will only contaminate 1000 gallons of water if it gets into a water source) Obama has taking the loose thread on the sweater and has run away more so then other presidents ..check out the executive orders he is signing...he is signing away everything our forefathers fought against and died for to build America up. I know this is way on the top but It is the head to much of our way of life which INCLUDES our hunting and being able to hike or enjoy the outdoors fishing what ever we hunters are not the only ones that will suffer from the fall out if we do not take a stand Our grandkids are the ones that will probably suffer the most if we continue to allow this ______to take over

Good practice round for .243 for kids?

OK...That is a good bit of info As for what round..I have a 6mm which is basically the same as a 243...I use the remington Core lockts 100gr in mine because they are the easiest round purchase on the road ..and they shoot well from my rifle I practice and hunt with that round. and that gun has taken a bunch of animals not only for me but for those that have borrowed it (this has happened many times over in texas)
  4. kninebirddog

Good practice round for .243 for kids?

BINGO..Excellent advice And yes Practice and sight in with what you are going to shoot... as weights and charges do change how your gun will shoot
  5. Sierra Club now there is a bunch of hypocrites it is OK for them to drive their fancy cars in to the mountains and then point the finger at some horseback riders for destroys the mountains with paths through the mountains...Like their cars and roads do not do any damage

ICLEI is your town a member

you should check out how many cities have signed up... A lot of California cities are members.....One thing that seems ot be a common with those places that are ICLEI members are also those cities and states that are having more problems what they spend versus what the suck out of their citizens. ICLEI Agenda 21 and the UN are for no better terms termites...they take one bite and it won't be until the damage is done that people will realize what happened and get all up in arms Time to be Proactive before we have to be Reactive
  7. kninebirddog

How many rounds of ammo do you carry?

That is a hard one to answer as it depends on where I am and what I am shooting...Most hunts larger will carry the box with me...just so the ammo is protected from getting banged around but if I am varmit blasting in Texas//I carry as much as I can
  8. Here is what the long term goal is... http://patriotsunion.ning.com/profiles/blogs/wildway-corridors-no-humans little chip here little bit there..this is what our children and grandchildren will have...or I should say Not have
  9. Look up Agenda 21 and ICLEI Dead serious...if more people would learn what all the sustainability and Green BS you would see what they are really doing...read up on Ron Paul and how he is against Agenda 21 and has been warning against it.

    Crossbows????

there are a few states back east Ohio for example that allow crossbow during Bow season..I also do not see any reason a crossbow shouldn't be allowed during Bow season as for Crossbows in Texas they actually just opened that back in 2009..I have said this before my first year bow hunting I started with a crossbow ..I quickly changed to a compound bow because the crossbow was clumsy to carry around and with out a special attachment I can not pull the string back and reload. I also found it to be very limiting as to distance..My son the same thing his first year was with a crossbow and he also went to a compound the next year.. so I see the crossbow as a great way to getting people started who think it will be easier to shoot ..it is in the comfort zone and many if they like the different way of hunting graduate to regular bows... Kudos to those that start to hunt some how some way..

    inexpensive taxidermist ???new pics

http://wellerswildli...om/gallery.html Here is wellers gallery...he is about the 700 range if nothing else take a good look at his work so you can see some decent work...remember your the one that will have to look at it on your walls so pay for what you will enjoy not what you will want to hide in the closest
  12. kninebirddog

    OMG Whats That

What is really sad though on the last pictures I posted the person who does that taxidermy has those mounts on his web page and thinks he does a great job ... I used to hate Euro style mounts ..after some of the BS I have had to deal with over in Texas I have come to love the skull hooker mounting ...I just can't bring myself to have anything else done by people who really need to seek another profession as my closest is full of mounts I would rather hide
  13. kninebirddog

    OMG Whats That

Here are some Clickable thumbnails of fur on a manikin OK so I had to much to drink last night really those eyes looked the same last night Wow I didn't know ears were about half way down a deers neck How to make a deers ear longer..just pull the bases out more Better yet so what I can fill this hide to make it fit .add some extra to the nose ..oh wait now I know Yep that look is what we see at night driving through texas, also interesting I didn't know deer mated with anteaters Ah just it is a little short people will never notice if I stretch this hide and add extra paint to the nose they won't notice even when the hide shrinks that the nose starts to crack .. Promise It won't be noticeable and those eye glands if they ask I'll just tell them bett you didn't know they stuck out on deer but don't worry no one will have the guts to tell you when it is hanging on your wall Hey gave you a special deal as I got these manikins on sale ..Had to throw in some extra stitches but you won't notice it on the wall...(at least not till the hide shrinks and your deer looks like it has a toupee on much less the eyes are far out set Oh and sorry for scraping the hide with to sharp of a knife but no one will notice the missing slices of fur These pictures make these deer look far better then they are...you really can't tell far the eyes poke out like an insect some are about like praying mantis eyes..much less some of the ears are peeling...I have a wall in the back of the house I call the wall of shame as it was a shame we wasted the money to have those deer mounted and that they are so bad I hate even getting them near any of Wellers or other decent work...but then As I tell people Go to Sportsman ware house in Tucson That right there is the best advertising for what quality work like Wellers is versus slapping a hide on a manikin which some of those mounts down there will make you get bitter beer face when you begin to pay attention to those life like details . PS People when you get drawn for the hunt...That is the time to go hunt for a taxidermist find out how they want you to cape your mount and how they want you to field prep how much they will charge ...Go see the work ..go check out at least 3 or 4 different taxidermist Look at their work see what they have done..Don't wait till you animal is down and then try and scramble to find the first one in the yellow pages We have seen some decent work for reasonable for those mounts that are not ie Trophy.. On this mountain lion..we happened to be walking out when the person who paid to have this Cat he had been chasing for 3 years was bringing it back to the taxidermist...All he had to say was wasn't even worth the space in the garage and he sure wasn't putting it in the house And what can I say..I sure wouldn't be happy with this This one reminds me of that Bob Dylan Song EVERYBODY MUST GET STONED and again Yes I am picky and if I would get a trophy back with ear that look like they are turned down like it is listening to the ground..No I would not be happy at all
  14. kninebirddog

    OMG Whats That

Click through this link http://www.outdoorlife.com/photos/gallery/hunting/2011/07/30-worst-taxidermy-photos-facebook there is some stuff that OML...a polar bear with bad allergies to I think it is a leopard with leprosy
  15. kninebirddog

    inexpensive taxidermist ???new pics

Why don't you do it yourself if you don't care how it is slapped on a manikin I can show you some hideous cheap jobs ...deer look like a needle nosed, caught in the head lights bugged eyed, hair slipping, ears poorly placed making the deer look like some rodent from outer space VAN DYKES DO IT YOURSELF DEER KIT PS be sure to get all the measurements correctly as that also will have a big deal to small hide shrinks rips and gets smaller and to small you will get a rhodesian ridged back deer to short in the face eyes will be half way down the nose to to small the eyes will be where the ears should be...but they have step by step instructions...but it is the "cheap" way to go Sorry ..but I rather pay more to have a piece of still life on my wall versus an abstract picasso fur pile on the wall
  16. kninebirddog

    Should I mount it?

If you decide on a euro mount I think the Skull hooker is way more classier looking
  17. kninebirddog

    Should I mount it?

Yep agree...Does not matter what we think....It is your first coues deer how do you see him on your wall or table top or where ever you think he will look the best?
  18. kninebirddog

    Which Rifle?

Most important is the one you are most comfortable and accurate with.....Gun and Load My 6mm I use 100gr remintons ..I do not go switching around because that is what shoots well from the gun My 300 win mag I shoot 180 gr I do not switch around again it is what I shoot practice and feel the most comfortable with I am the same with my Bow ...I practice 100 gr and shoot 100 gr I do not turn the weight up and down... My feelings are Why practice and get set with something if that isn't what you are going to use in real day application
  19. kninebirddog

Bad idea to switch Ammo brands night before hunt?

Stick with what you know.... Bad idea to switch...I can tell you what I have seen over the years when people practice with one round then switch to their Hunting Ammo and then wonder why they had a bad shot or missed even at closer distances I have a silky who helps to track wounded deer over in Texas.

    Baiting

I do not have any thing against baiting...It has been proven that it will Not guarantee the big monster will come in most often it is the does and young ones will come in if they learn it is a constant source and should by chance a bigger buck come in it Can also help to attain a better shot I would much rather see someone put a source of something out then what I sat and listened to some Idiots brag about while sitting at the Jacob Lakes restaurant...Slinging arrows hitting deer in the back area they tried to track it but after 50 yards they could not find any more blood so they were headed out to go try for another deer .... Bait is Far more humane then desperate hail Mary chase them down slinging bullets or arrows at an animal maiming animals that does far more to giving Hunters a bad name then a pile of food or a mineral lick...In my book Happy hunting and if it is Legal for the state you are in and it helps you make that shot that will put the animal down quickly..don't worry about someone elses book of ethics

    Budgeting for Mounts?

here is some of Wellers work you can go see at the Sportman warehouse. I realize you are not looking for this kinda of mount but if he can do this with full imagine how good a shouder mount will look
  23. kninebirddog

    Budgeting for Mounts?

depending on where you go...I know Wellers is on the pricey side BUT with them you are getting a quality job that looks like still life rather then a hide slapped onto a mount with no extra care to real anatomy ... Pet peeve which will make me hit the door faster then anything is when you see a Cat mount with teeth showing in a hissing manner and they have ears perked up in an alert position and eyes big and round...That is not how cats hiss The eyes are slanted ears are pinned back ..So if I see that I do not care what else they do I can already tell they do not take the time to pose an animal correctly Or another taxidermist had the wrong eyes in a couple of his white tail he stuck sheep eyes in Or another guy he had all deer ears stuck out to the side..not even in a proper position just stuck to the side no care which when you have a smaller antler size you need to turn ears where the deer looks like it is listening to behind a bit thus enhancing the antlers it does have Wellers pays close attention to those kind of small but very important details So with that said I believe is is almost at 600-700 for a shoulder mount..he has a work shop of people so though he does have a 6-9 month turn around he isn't just slapping stuff on and cramming junk out the door he has hides tanned professionally then some people working on fixing holes and scraping cleaning prepping and a couple people who actually place the hide and then build up the eyes detail the mouth and ears and touch up the final job Best place to see quality work versus slap the hide to a mount is go to the Sportsman warehouse in Tucson ....if you have any eye for work you will see the quality Sorry to be so long winded but there is ntohing worse then getting back a mount that you will not be happy with...a buddy of ours had a possum done to add to a varmit collection he had going..the guy that did his possum did such a bad job he threw it away ...500 bucks down the drain said it looked like a pile of fur from a freak show, Another one a guy had waited years to getting a mountain lion..he took it back to the taxidermist and left it ..was a horrid job barely could tell it was a mountain lion only thing the guy got right was the tail
  24. kninebirddog

    Need a taxidermist

It may eb a bit of a trip but for a super quality more like still life type job Weller Wildlife Studios http://www.wellerswildlifestudio.com/ down at the sportsman ware house in Tucson is the best way to see for yourself as to his quality as you can see wellers still life work compared to the other hides on mounts
