Crazy. How did you hit it in the head at 20 yards. Lol.
-
Wish I saw this last night. We could have brought dogs and caught it for you. Oh well

111. Wth are you talking about??? Small tailed lions??? I tell you what. You go spend the time and money it takes to have good lion dogs. Then go hunt and see how easy it is to catch a lion. Your clueless to tell houndsmen they should bring extra hunters and kill everything they catch.

Sitting a tank is not spot and stalk.

Can you see the guys face clearly? I also had a similar situation this year. Had a guy on camera spreading apples on the ground on the archery buffalo hunt in kiabab.

One of our group cant make our NZ trip. Very last minute but figured I would see if anyone could fill the spot. We leave oct 27 and return nov 10 Total cost will be $2500. That includes airfare and everything. No limit on animals. It is mainly a tahr and chamois hunt but there is a chance at red stag. I have done this trip last two years and it's a blast. If interested let me know. You will have to have your passport already as I don't think you have time to get one now.

Couple of my buddies went last weekend. Shot couple hogs. They said it was fun -
It has a mountain goat icon in front of it. It's on first page
-
It's on the big game forum.

Send me a pm. If you wanna go run roads when it snows my buddy will catch you a lion if you cut the track. No females though. Just toms. We have caught a lot of lions in 23

Where abouts do you live.

Lol. Good stuff here. My opinion- Lions are very hard to pattern to the extent of knowing where they will be to shoot without dogs. Some females have a pretty tight area they hang out in but would still be tough. Lots of calling in an area where you get pictures might be best bet. Fact- lions scratch to mark territory. Nothing to do with kills

Well we made it back. Had a great trip. 3 of us shot something like 29 animals. Pics and story are on bowsite Forum.

Last weekend i took my 5 year old son to New mexico to kill his first animal. It was a blast and he killed this 72 inch goat on the first day. We used the "claw" and youth model .243 This weekend was my older daughters junior deer hunt in unit 7. She killed this stud buck (168 inch) on the second day. We almost got him the first day but i screwed up. Luckily i found him the next morning. We got above him while he was bedded and sat for hour and a half until he got up and she shot him at 60 yards. Was a great week for me helping my son on his first hunt and my daughter on her first buck.

Any guess off that picture is just a wild guess. Can't really see all the points. Could be anywhere from 330-370

13a Archery Strip tag DIY with my family (2013)

Great buck and awesome that your family got to be part of it. But the comment " I have shot countless animals and only retrieved 2" is a little troubling. -
It's crazy how open it looks in that picture but there were only a couple shooting lanes there.

No catch. The biggest cost is airfare. It's about $1800. The rest is put in toward the rest of the cost which are... Rental car. Helicopter ride in to the spot we hunt. Few motel stays. Gas for rental car. There is no charge to hunt over there. This is my third trip over there. This year we will be adding some wallaby hunting. Be warned if you go plan on going again cuz it's addicting.
-
Lol. I figured that's the case with most guys but you never know. Las 2 trips I I killed 3 tahr, 2 chamois and 1 red stag. In case someone is wondering if it's worth getting fired over. :-)

Not long to be honest. But that claw system really helps

Flatlander, Thanks for the help. Man when he stood up he didn't waste much time. She barely got a shot before he disappeared. It was a lot thicker up there than it looked from the bottom. Thanks for the nice comments everyone

well day one of my daughters hunt is in the bag. No ibex. We were on them but no shot under 400 yards and we waited hoping for a closer shot. Spent the day on the mnt in position for them to move back down out of the cliffs but it just didn't pan out. We saw about 75 ibex and 5 really nice billies. These animals are just amazing how they move through vertical cliffs Had a close call with a rattle snake on way off the mnt in the dark. Hope we can connect in the morning. Will post pics when we get home.
