Who chambers carbon fiber barrels
AxisWorks LLC replied to n2horns's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
n2horns, We have done allot of Proof Research carbon wrapped barrels over here at AxisWorks. In fact it's been about 50/50 carbon vs steel barrels this year. We're located in Tempe, let us know if we can help you out on this. Eric-- 574-248-0929 -
Another vote for Hunter Smith at Broadhead outfitters. Give him a call for sure.

Please welcome AxisWorks LLC as our newest sponsor!
AxisWorks LLC replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Sponsor Spotlight
Thank You Amanda for all you help in launching AxisWorks LLC as a sponsored vendor here at CWT. We are exited to finally go public with the firearms division of our company. We have enjoyed working with a few CWT members via word of mouth in the past and really look forward to the opportunity of meeting and serving many more to come. A few things we are looking forward to rolling out on the manufacturing side this year will be our own designed bottom metal both BDM and BDL, as well as our +2 round AICS style magazine extensions giving the PRS guys that added extra edge when competing. I spent a few days this week working on updating/finishing our website. Here you will find a few of the rifle builds we have been working on as well as some of the other industries we work in. Link: https://www.axisworksaz.com Swing on into the shop or give us a call anytime. Eric Goss, President, AxisWorks LLC -

Any Machinists on here? Looking for barrel/bolt fluting.
AxisWorks LLC replied to ready2hunt's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Hey guys, Thanks for the kind words Adam. Before I get to involved in advertising here on the forum I've reached out to Amanda a couple times via Email inquiring about becoming a vendor for CWT. She hasn't gotten back to me yet so if any of you have an alternative rout of contacting her please let me/her know. I'll post a link to our website as soon as I make contact with Amanda and make sure we're not stepping on any toes before we're setup as a CWT vendor. Until then I appreciate all the members who have contacted us via word of mouth that we have been able to provide services for in the past. We have spent the last few weeks moving the shop from Chandler to Tempe and we are excited to grow the firearm side of the buisiness this upcoming year. Happy new year to all of you from the team at AxisWorks. Have fun and be safe tonight. Eric-- -
Your the man Tim! I know first hand how hard you prepared and worked for this hunt. Congratulations on success and I'm glad you made it out in one piece. I hope my optics did as well.😳🙏😂

Here is a 6.5x47 Lapua I'm currently building on the Orias Chassis. The only thing left to do is Cerakote the barrels action Crimson red to match. Feel free to swing by the shop anytime to check it out. We're located near Stellar air park in Chandler. Eric--

Don't get me wrong there is absolutely nothing wrong with a Defiance Deviant action. My decision usually comes down to which one I can get my hands on first between the two. Im still a Defiance fan as well. Here are some pics of my personal 6.5x47 PRS rifle on a Defiance Deviant. Hopefully today I'll find some time to Cerkote the barreled action Crismon Red and finnish it up.

What is it about the Bighorn, that you like over the Defiance? Floating bolt head - helps square up the bolt/action interface for more consistant shooting Interal recoil lug - allows the bighorn action to be put straight into a std rem stock with no milling/bedding alterations. the actions are both same length, but the recoil lug on defiance is 1/4" further forward, requireing not only stock to be milled out, but also area behind lug to be bedded. sliding plate extractor. bolt release -adjustable bolt stop that I like the feel of it better and I believe it was more beefy

From the label it looks like it's Inlet for a Remington long action and Remington BDL bottom metal. Do you know what barrel contour it has been inlet for? Thanks,
-
I've been building allot of 6mm Dashers on on the Bighorn actions lately and have really fell in love with them for the smaller cartridges. Bighorn would be my first choice for your application followed by a Defiance. I'm not a fan of the Surgeon extractors and I'm not 100% sold on the BAT adjustable firing pin protrusion feature untill I have more time to spend with them. Eric--

Shoot off sand bags, sled, stands, bi pod?
AxisWorks LLC replied to Zeke-BE's topic in Long Range Shooting
A lead sled creates a "pivot" point at the toe of your stock resulting in muzzle lift during recoil. Your POI is usually much different transitioning from the sled to bags, bipod etc. However transitioning from the bench on bags to a bipod can be done with less variance providing the correct techniques and bipod design are being used. By using a rear bag under the rear of the stock and preloading a bipod forward that pivots straight back will mimic much closer to the motion of the rifle like it would on 2 sandbags off the bench. Here's a video link where Aaron Davidson does a really good job of explaining this. -
I'll take it. PM on its way.

PST's have the capability of lumintion and can come in both FFP and SFP HST's elevation turret graduations are in 1/2MOA VS 1/4MOA, I believe the windage turret is capped instead of exposed.

*****WTS/WTT Pierce Ti, Minox, Grendel...*****

Are you interested in selling the Grendel upper by itself? -
Please post pictures of Frankenstein soon. Finished the muzzle end tonight on the 6.5 SS by adding a Ryan Pierce Mini Mag "Muscle Brake" Ryan's breaks are extreamly effective and the quality and finish are the best on the market because well...I'm the manufacturer. 😊 Needs trigger, and Cerakote yet but mocked things up and took a picture to share as the build progresses.

I'm working on finishing the website up soon. Ive been busy the last few weeks adding the equipment to offer Cerakote to the shop. We're officially a certified Cerakote shop now. As soon as the sites up and running I will Let everyone know.

What coues caliber to build off a Remington 700 Long Action
AxisWorks LLC replied to CouesPursuit's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Been a little side tracked getting the Cerakote station up and running the last few weeks. I'll be finishing up the muzzle end on the stiller/proof research 6.5 Sherman short build this week and get some pictures up. I'll be starting another 6.5 SS build on a Tikka action as soon as the barrel blank showed up. Should be another lite back country tac driver for the tikka guys.👍 -
