Went to check two of my cams in the mingus range this morning and as I have always assumed would happen... they were both stolen. Forest service didn't remove them as whoever took them cut the locks, littered and left the straps and batteries laying. I don't even use these to scout for hunting rather I like to just hang them up every May/June/July to get good bear pics for entertainment and kind of fun to go check them. This isn't about ol' poor me or how I was wronged. We all realize we take a risk when we leave something in the woods. I really don't care that much... I am more bummed about not getting 3-4 weeks of good pics than I am about my cams being stolen. I went 7yrs without getting a camera stolen so I consider that a win and one of them was pretty junky.. had been beat up by cattle, etc.. I feel more sorry for the morally bankrupt individual that felt he needed my cameras more than I did. I just hope he didn't have a kid with him at the time. You have to stoop pretty low to steal a few $80 cameras. But honestly I really don't care that much. I'll buy some new ones. Anyway... If anyone comes across a stealthcam exactly like the one in the picture below while out in the woods with the little DLoop/hook on the side snapped off let me know. It is a very obvious snapped off/broken piece where you'd put a lock on from a cow beating it up one time + I notched out an area on it on the side to make it distinguishable. I know it like the back of my hand so if someone ever comes across it in the woods take a pic and let me know. I'll even let the idiot keep the camera since he needed it so bad... just want to have a good talk with him about stealing. Thanks for looking.

Imagine the stats in the middle east where the ideology of hatred against the US and Christians runs rampant and is brainwashed into children. 23% of the worlds population are muslims. Don't call me ignorant. Face the facts. I call it like I see it... I don't give a crap about tolerance of islam. I can get along just fine with a peaceful muslim but I don't agree with who they call God or their religion. There is nothing wrong with that. But something is certainly wrong with their religion if they still, in this day and age, have blood thirsty terrorists pulling the strings in their governments.

Str8shot I'm with ya. I think these thieves are mostly punks out riding around. I would like to believe most of the cams are not stolen by true hunters. Couesfanatic that is a sweet gadget. I want one. You'd have to somehow conceal it within the camera so the thief doesn't remove it. Would be nice to buy a trail cam integrated with it already... now there's an idea. I'd pay the extra $80 for a camera that had one in it no questions asked. I see a partnership between spot trace and tcam manufacturers in the making....

Unless your on private property it's not your spot, public land belongs to all I don't hunt that spot and even if I went in there and found a guy sitting that trick tank... I'd still have to prove he stole my camera which how do you do that unless he's holding it as I walk in. Anyway I have better places to be on opening day.

Nowhere in my orig post was I "crying" about my cams being stolen - Lol. I specifically stated I really don't care much and that I'll just go buy new ones and I understand it is a risk yadayadayada. And also that I feel more sorry for the guy that stole them. My intent was to show what my camera looks like (with a broken d-hole on side) and maybe someone will come across it and notify me in which case I'll go serve some justice. My other intent is to warn others that maybe hang cams in 19A to watch out. I did not have my cam lag bolted to a tree, it was strapped but I understand you're referring to a pic someone else posted in their reply. We all understand it is a risk but dang this is a discussion forum can't a guy vent anyway if he wants? I don't get too angry with these thieves... life's too short for that and in the end a stupid trail cam is insignificant. As I said he'll face his judgement day. I could give a rats behind if a MM or CW member doesn't like trail cams. They're perfectly legal and if you don't like them well don't use them but don't tread on the guy that uses them for entertainment or hunting purposes. Personally I don't hunt the tanks I put them on... I just like getting pics of bears in the dry season and it's a great way to learn how populations of a species are doing in a particular area. Plus I have a 1yr old and he likes to ride in the backpack to check them with me.. fun thing to do with kids. The people that steal them can try to justify it how ever they want but they will face their own judgement day.

Averagejoe, that may be in some cases but stealing is stealing and that is not a legitimate excuse to steal an obvious non-abandoned, working trail cam. They came with bolt cutters obviously. If they were only concerned about their pic being taken they could've just taken my memory card or smashed the camera.

Someone found a chocolate lab in Williamson valley area N. of prescott... that is quite a stretch from where you were however but worth noting on here anyway.. likely not the same dog. No mention of a collar and it was posted on FB. Really hope you guys find the dog.

My wife, dogs, and I were shed hunt'n in 8 and came across a dog with collar that appeared lost but had a good feeling all was well. We made friends with it and got close enough to get the ph# off the dogs collar (it wasn't chasing anything.. just walking around and couldn't hear the other dogs or anyone nearby). It was clear the collar was working as the timer was going on it still so we figured a houndsman was close but called the ph# anyway and got ahold of his wife who gave us his cell#. Called him on his cell and within 20 min. he worked his way to us on foot. We just wanted to make sure the dog found his way back to the owner so we hung out with the dog until the guy got to us. Houndsman out of kingman area... forget the name but nice guy.

What kind of smoker you usin? I have some back ribs on right now... electric smoker set it and forget it, just add wood chips every once in a while. Pretty easy to use but getting the meat cooked right can be a challenge.. briskets are hard to get right sometimes. Ribs aren't too bad.
