  1. This is a good post - I just spent a week in Alberta watching bears all week must've watched 15 bears or so - I think bears are one of my favorite big game animals and although yes they can get nasty... 99% of the time they are just curious and are more scared of you yet they may want to get close to check you out. That doesnt mean they want to hurt you - you're just a smell they've never smelled before and they're intrigued... Personally I like that idea of having and using bear spray first and only shoot if necessary. They are usually the first to run - we spooked quite a few after we had tagged out just messing around. Bottom line if a bear is getting that close to you jack a bullet and get ready but avoid killing it if necessary IMO

  2. Well just back from an alberta canada black bear hunt with my father - I had convinced him to come along a few months ago and he was glad he did. We had an awesome time - We eached tagged two bears (and our first bears ever) My first one was archery and second cinnamon/blonde bear was with rifle spot and stalk shot at around 200 yards. After we tagged out we filmed over an hour of footage of other bears, did some river boating, shed hunting, ranch/farm chores, etc... Kept busy all week - What an experience. Enjoy the pics and good to be back in Prescott (except for the smoke from the fires)

  3. Appears that pig did not have health insurance and could not get to the dentist - looks like plaque build up... It's brewers fault. just kiddin.. but seriously if you've seen pigs with gold nuggets in their nasal cavities I'll start trying harder to harvest a pig that would be awesome to find, win win situation (For me, not the pig)

  4. If there is no "Closed" sign.... It aint closed and the tree cops can have fun writing tickets all they want but they wont get paid. If there is a closed sign the rule should be respected... but again they cannot expect to keep people off a road they Failed or were too lazy to put up a closed sign on. Thats my opinion anyway.

  5. "If no one touches it or contacts me for a few months, I would take it home for my future hunts" aka

Akaspecials... are you kidding me? I dont care how long its been out there you have no right to take that blind. Leave it alone and set up your own blind, even if its right next to the other blind if no one is hunting there that's fine go ahead and hunt that spot but you dont have the right to take a fellow hunter's blind, no matter what. As the prior commenter said you dont know why its been there so long and really who cares. Leave other people's property alone. Two things I hate most in this world is thieves and hackers... oh and terrorists.

  6. Sounds like Obama's pastor... Reverend Wright. That guy is the nut, not Ted Nugent. Nugent is an extremely intelligent individual that actually has his head on pretty straight. When you actually listen to what he is saying its very hard to disagree and he speaks what most of us hunters and conservatives are actually thinking. Props to the Nuge and that whole comment got blown out of proportion for sure. Nugent is the last person they would need to worry about in my opinion.

  7. Nice fresh shed I found this morning with some good friends out hiking 6A and found one other broken off antler... appears from a fight. Great morning overall, beautiful country and fresh air and the shed was just a bonus. Fresh and brown however saw plenty of smaller bulls that still had their gear. NATE.
