Why a spotting scope????
DEERSLAM replied to coueshunter's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Really all depends on the hunt. I only carry the 10's, 15's and spotter on certain hunts. Depends on the country and game I'm hunting. For instance, this Sept. when I'll be hunting caribou I'll only carry the 10's and the spotter. Need to judge them bou before I go after them or take the shot. It's great to have all of the options as far as glass goes for different hunts but it's very costly as I believe in buying the very best you can, and sometimes can't, afford -
Sorry guys I also wanted to tell everyone that I got my buck officialy scored by Kirk Kelso and he went 131&7/8!!! I am sure glad I got him last year when there was something for them to eat. Good luck guys! Mason, Congrats!! That's one heck of a buck know matter what the score.

I'll be buying a new pair of boots real soon. I was going to get the Lowa sheep hunters but I didn't like the way they felt when I tried them on at the SCI convention in Reno. Right now I think I'll be going with the Lathrop and Sons boot system featuring Hanwag boots. They ain't cheap but sound like a great set up. I think I'm in pretty good shape with the rest of my gear. Though you never know since I'm a certified "Gear Freak"

Awesome looking mount SunDevil. He looks ALIVE! Your taxidermist did a super job. How about a couple more pics with different angles.

Nice bulls Lance. Looks like antler growth is doing well in this unit.

Yeah I saw it but hadn't thought about the point restrictions. Did every unit last year have point restrictions?

I always have some type of fire starter with me, water proof matches, lighter or flint. I'm thinking about getting one of those super duper lighters for my trip to the Northwest Territories. Also always try to have a space blanket or some thing I can use for shelter.

God bless you all and God bless our troops. Have a safe and semi-sane 4th God bless America.

Cool pics Ron. They sure like that spot. Is it a natural salt lick or is it a spot where salt licks have been put out regularly? I see the one lick by the stump.

I need to know how you all do on your Sitka hunts. It's the last deer I need for my "slam"
