UNSPORTSMAN LIKE CONDUCT!!!!
TLH replied to Buckhunter's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
TAM, i really believe that there are people who watch for people to go into the woods and some how and some way they know where you go and where the cameras will be. If the salt is on the ground or any other kind of mineral they will find that first and then they have your camera. A buddy of mine will take his ladder with him and he will hang his camera way up in a tree and point it down to get the pictures--he has been hanging cameras for a long time and has never lost one (knock on wood) by the way, he will hang cameras in places where there is a lot of foot traffic and he still has never lost a camera. Most people who find your salt won't try to climb a tree to get a camera. -
I actually had this bow in my hand last night and Cookie had it sold until the guy at my table won the Kodiak that was there. This is a sweet bow--really nice. It is worth every penny that is being asked.

Nice picture! After the archery season is over i will stick mine out there--i have a rifle tag and i want to see if the bulls are going where they always have after the rut but if i put them up now there is a great chance that they will get snagged by someone. I do have one out there though and i have been getting some good pictures--i will post them when i get home. -
Hey, i say keep it up--this is very informative thread. I will continue: I scout areas that have lots of special feed--like mushrooms and other types of feed that only happen one time of year--deer love mushrooms (i know there will be some stuff said about this one) but i regress--if you can find an area where you see some of these food sources and there is a trail near by i set my stand up there about 15 to 20 feet in the air. I hunt a place in the Bradshaw's at about 7000 feet and i have done pretty well over the years getting my shots but i have not had much luck getting the job done (read: shakes here!) Scouting is still key to success. There may be water sources out there but sometimes the deer will only water from one source until it is gone--kind of interesting actually because i have found water sources out there that are a lot harder for the deer to get to than others and they usually drink from the harder to get to one first. Why is the article getting put on hold??

Anyone hear of anyone getting a sheep tag yet?

Make sure it is the right horse!

Talking about Karma--my buddy R.L. put a camera up on a wind mill that he has been using for years--the windmill is owned by a rancher by the name of Miller--any way, he had one of his camera's taken about two weeks ago and he was bummed out for sure. Well, the Yavapai Sheriff department did a little park and swap hunting in Congress and guess what? R.L.'s camera was there on the table still in it's protective box and the kicker was that R.L. had his name and part of his SS number carved into the camera. The Sheriff department confiscated the camera and gave it back to R.L. and the dude that had it will be visiting one of the court houses real soon--they got him for possession of stolen property. Now i know what you all are thinking--if a camera is taken from National Forest or BLM or State Trust there isn't anything can do--and you might be right, but that doesn't mean that some day in good old Pumpkin Center you won't find your camera on a table and then you can make sure the person who is trying to sell it knows that you know it was stolen and if you put your I.D. in the camera you may be able to get the law to help you out. Too bad about your camera bud--that really sucks but i think a lot of these people stealing camera are just people looking for something to sale???? -
20 B muzzy tag--it was hot last year but we seen a few deer--ended up shooting a little forky for food! :-)

Sportsmans Warehouse in Goodyear to Close

Actually TAM that would be a very smart thing to d--in fact, if they keep space around the store, they could grow with the population and economy. I know there can not be that many girls who buy the camo bikini's that i see down there (though i have searched for them many times)or a lot of the regular clothing you can buy at any J.C. Penny stores either. If they kept it to hunting and fishing they couldn't go wrong. -
I found out when Draw Results will be available!!

TAM, i think you will still see your store in Prescott Valley--in fact, i bet a lot of the merchandise they have at the Goodyear place will be in that store--just a guess but i think it is a good business move. Cabela's and Bass pro will probably never build in a city that isn't the size of Phoenix but SW can and will do well in that market. Big 5 will see a lot of customers go to SW now. -
Doug, That is some great info! I have been waiting to see the Swaro scope i have been hearing about. I love shooting muzzy's and i like shooting long range with them. Thanks!
-
Grew up hunting Mulies in 18B--killed my first in 1973 and have been going ever since. Dad had me walking with him hanging on to his pocket when i was barley big enough to walk--those are some great memories and i really wish i could start all over--not going to happen though--so sad.

It will be Friday guys and gals and then we will either be happy or we will be hateful. The people who draw will thank the game and fish and the one's who do not draw will hate the game and fish--it is this way every year. Good luck to all of you-- -
Kevin, ask them to send you the game and fish hunting unit overlay--it is free and it is somewhere on the web site download section.
-
Kevin, I have the 4.0.
-
Kevin, I run mine on Vista--maybe you should write NG and see what they say--i will take a look at the version when i get home and i will let you know what i have--if yours is different then that may be your problem??

Lefty, Times are tough right now buddy. Anyone who has a job are watching the spending as they really don't know what is still to come in the future. Like i said, if your Pa still has it in two months i will probably pick it up--but two months might be too long for him to wait.

They sure don't like touching those blood filled antlers on anything do they?? Nice pictures Jim--too bad about your camera buddy--Karma will take care of those scumbags.

Ernest, It was near Springer, New Mexico and it was in August on an early antelope hunt. One second it was clear and the next here this thing is. The cool part was that there was another one coming from the south and when they met it broke up--wish i had a camcorder to get that but we had a good buck to get. -
Stan, He is a pup--i would think this was a monster too if i was 10 years old. How the heck are ya anyway?

I know Robbie Woodhouse is an avid hunter--he is one of the best commissioners we have had in a long time. Freeman will be a challenge only because he thinks with his own mind--if you can't prove him wrong on an issue then you lose and that goes for the greenies and anti's. I am not siding with Freeman yet but i think he will do well.
