    Giant bull DOWN!!

414 5/8" is a pretty cool net score if it holds up for official measurements. But world record or not LAB grew into everything we hoped he would be and did his daddy proud! I'm just glad we finally get to hold these horns we have been drooling over for 4 years!!! =) And very glad he has the tag of a very deserving hunter on his antelers!!! Congrats again Ryan!!! Lance
  2. Larry Smart and Timberland Outfitters have been blessed with a nice Kaibab buck! This is from Larry's 12A West "CHAMP Hunt" If anyone knows Larry from Yuma you know he is one of the nicest guys around! The hunting up there has been tough so far this year. The big bucks have not been moving during daylight hours and we had to work our trails off for every big buck we saw. Larry shot this buck out of a group of nice bucks i pushed past him at 20 yards!!! Congrats again Larry! We are thankful to have been a part of your hunt! Lance

  9. Threse are a few pictures Ive taken during scouting trips lately. They arent the best pictures and pretty grainy. thats because I took them through my spoting scope with the video camera at extreme distances. But there are a lot of really good bulls in these blury pictures so I thought They needed sharing anyway. Many have extra points that are hard to see and a few are well over 370+. And a couple are just stupid big. lol Hope you can appreciate them even though they are blury. TLO View the full article

    15A / 15B Buck

Guessing from just that picture I'd say a young 3 year old with a 70" ish rack. His body looks more like a 2 year old to me in that pic. A side view of the rack might say a Lil bit different. Keep looking for bigger ones. Its an AZ antelope tag!!!!! Don't settle, You can do better.

    7E Advice for a Youth

If you hike up the Peaks you will eventually run into elk. the question is will you be able to get an elk out of the wildernes area if you kill one there, or how far in you may kill one? I would be more worried about that. The west side of the unit goes all the way out to 180. hiking in between the roads out there will produce elk and so will the hills and small mountains in that area. There will be cow elk all over the unit. you just gotta figure out where you want to kill one. Lance

  21. Dan No problem, we are all glad you guys could make it! And no I don't think it's broken. It's just growing non typical that way! Pretty wild!
  22. Jimmer This is a post i wrote on our June 14th velvet bulls post. I thought id share it here as well. "It's a dry year but I think the majority of the antler growth will not be affected. Everywhere these particular bulls are living has plenty of water and plenty of lush green food. So I don't beleive there are any antler growth restrictions amongst these bulls. As in most areas where posible, when it gets dry the elk naturally move to where the best feed and water is. Like burns, or golf courses, or drying up lake beds, or mountain medows where the snow has just melted or in towns where food and water can be found in a number of places. Especially the bulls who know they need the nutrients. There is always the exception and some elk will be too dumb to know whats good for them or just not have the opportunity. But for the most part there is always some where the smarter ones can escape to with some kind of good food and water. I know that bad habitat conditions will have a direct effect on every part of an elks life, including anteler growth. And I've seen the effects. But, because elk are usually smart enough to take advantage of other options like mentiond above, I don't beleive it has the big all around effect on anteler growth throughout our state that many people have come to think it does."
