" As far as the name SHORTPANTS, I am legally considered a dwarf and I usually don't wear any pants. Usually nobody says anything because I'm a minority and I can do whatever I want!" .....He usually gets huge tips from clients cause' of this!......"sympathy tips"

All I know as far as deductions is after I bought several paintings at a banquet, all I could write off was the amount that I spent "OVER" fair market value. I could not write off what the item was worth, just what I presumably spent over and above what the item cost normally. Maybe that's changed recently? JIM>

I've got 2, NM Unit 15, Muzzy Bull tags in the rut still available, if you really want to go kill a nice Bull? Kinda pricey, but we have to eat them if we don't sell them! PM me if interested, JIM>

You know what? I just checked the overall top 10 poster list....and Deerslam is, without a doubt, the "poster child" for a "CouesWhitetail.com Junkie"! He made it to the "1000" club in 13 months! Everyone else has been here since 03'! What a LOSER!......... I'm seriously just kidding Mike! We'd be lost without ya! JIM> -

Heck yeah Ernesto! That "1000" club is growing fast and you deserve to be there Ernesto! Congrats! JIM> -
My .02 worth.......I have always thought the Corner staff were a bunch of nice people, and they are, it would be sad to lose any small huntin shops due to Cabelas being here. If I were to have work done on my bow, I would have Archery Headquarters do it without hesitation, great guys as well and very knowledgeable. Hey Bowsniper, were you on the radio this morning with Jim Solomon? My dad was on the radio right after a guy from your archery club was on there. The guy from your club was talking about the upcoming seminar with Corky and it sounds like a great deal and very informative! My dad was also talking about a seminar with the AES this Sat. just trying to get the word out. He posted a little snippet about it and the contact info in the "Wildlife Projects" discussion forum, that would be a good place for your info as well? Thanks, JIM>

That surprises me you have only seen doe's. I think I've seen more bucks (coues bucks) within the city limits of Payson, than I have outside city limits! Some have even been big bucks and tend to have a "no fear" mentality also. I would just get out and start humpin' the hills lookin for sign, you'll start narrowing down your search and will end up with some good spots, you actually don't have to travel far at all! Good luck, JIM>

I just can't believe a Coues fell for that? An Elk, yeah....but a Coues? C'mon....his other Coues buddies must have pushed him in as a prank or the Elk wrestled him into the trap, that has to be how it happened JIM>

You must have already fixed the scroll problem cause' it works great for me, no scroll. Great job Bass, that's really helpful to alot of poeple! I self taught myself a year ago how to post pic's and what a nightmare that was, especially when you don't know much about computers! This would have helped me a bunch! Thanks, JIM>

................in my DREAMS! Still just killin' time, this is the buck I killed last year on the early hunt, I was bored a while ago and turned my little 2 point into the buck of my dreams! This is the buck our newest member, Shortpants, is gonna glass up for me this year! JIM> again......this IS photoshopped!

dang, I just read through all the reply's and read Deerslams whole procedure and was feeling pretty stoopid! I have never even thought much about breaking-in a rifle, but have been told to clean it alot when shooting it the first couple of boxes. I had a brand new gun last year and when shooting it the first time, I would clean it after every 3 rounds, mainly to give the barrel a chance to cool down because I was sighting it in at the same time. Mr. Quimby made me feel alot better though with his ideas on break-in, but I really like a clean gun, so I'll just find a happy medium here and go with that. Great info from everybody, I learned something today! JIM>

How does somebody go about getting information for San Carlos. This link will get you most of what you need to know, calling them is a better way! JIM> http://www.sancarlosrecreationandwildlife.com/

I have very little knowledge about 12B, but I do know that alot of big bucks are killed off waterholes on that hunt and even the later hunt. I don't have the patience to sit a waterhole, but appearantly for some reason, it works well for the guys I know that have hunted there. Just get a good map showing the tanks, and get up there and find which are getting hit the hardest and which have a good vantage point over looking the tank and possibly the surrounding area. This would be good to do now, and best to do right before the hunt to find out which tanks are still getting hit to narrow down which one to hunt near or on. Best of luck, JIM>

"I just live by this motto... if I die tomorrow, at least I'll die knowing that I didn't go through life saying I wish I could do this or that, or I'll do that someday.. Basically the woulda, shoulda, coulda complex that alot of people have. When I say I'm gonna do something, I DO IT! I never put things off if I can help it.. Remember that, you only live this life once. Might as well make it a good one.." Those are the same words I live by! Well said Scottyboy! You never know if today will be your last, enjoy every last detail! JIM>

Coues country's other inhabitants
COOSEFAN posted a topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I'm stuck at home again so figured I start a new thread. There has been some awesome photos of Gila Monsters and Rattlers lately, maybe we can see some others here in this thread. I had a serious fascination with poisonous critters when I was younger, hunted them, collected them, photographed them and even got bit by them ( which forced me to avoid them from that point on) I have since given it up, but I always look for them and enjoy seeing any reptile out in Coues country, as long as I'm not standing on it! This one is a AZ Blacktail, the most aggressive one I've seen, on the Res last year. This is just a cool photo of a Western Diamondback. This is an AZ Black Rattlesnake that is in the process of shedding, these things can blend into anything! This is two Western Diamondbacks that I found together, probably getting ready to mate, but got all upset that I disturbed them and the lighter colored snake started biting the dark one. You can see the fangs from the one sinking into the dark snake. The dark snake eventually died. The lighter snake is actually pushing 6 feet in length and the tanned skin stretched to 6 1/2 feet! These monsters were on the Res also. Thanks JIM> -
Imagine that.....three "book" class bucks on the same hunt this side of the border! Thats our goal and I would gladly take the smallest Hey Jack, what did that toad score? I need to let Shortypants know what the bottom line is for my buck! JIM>
-
Hey Jack, My buddies and I have the early tag in there this year and are packin' in for the whole hunt, hopefully to at least throw some lead at a buck like that! I remember that pic and that's an awesome buck! Congrats again on that, JIM> Deerwelder, your getting some good info, but remember that road through Canelo Pass IS the southeastern border of the unit. 35A is across the road and if you go as Jack mentioned south of the Pass, you have to stay West of that road. I'm sure you already know that, but there are maps out there that make it hard to differentiate which road is which. Pretty much most of that right there south/southwest of the Pass is Antelope looking country, but you'll see where you need to be if you try that spot! Best of luck! JIM> Hey speakin of the devil, This guy just posted when I did and didn't see it before, but Shortpants is the guy that promised me he'll glass up a buck like Jacks on our hunt and let me shoot it! What a nice feller! JIM> That right there is what I want and nothing less Shortypants!
